낮은 학업성취 학생에 대한 교사의 귀인속성, 지도 효능감 및 대처 방안 간 관계 모형 개발

국문 초록

본 연구는 학업 저성취 학생에 대한 교사들의 귀인속성, 지도 효능감 그리고 대처 방안 간의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 대구, 경북 및 기타 지역 초등학교 교사들 216명을 임의 표집하여 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 초등학교 교사들의 학업 저성취에 대한 귀인 속성은 개인적 배경 변인에 따라 차이를 보였다. 통합교육경력이 많은 교사들은 개인 내적 귀인 특성을 가진 것으로 제시되었으나, 교직경력과 특수교육관련 연수 이수 정도는 학생의 현 상태 지속성 및 통제가능성과 역 상관을 보여, 학생의 낮은 성취도가 지속되지는 않지만 학생 개인의 노력에 의해 극복되기는 어려울 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 또한 교사들의 귀인 속성과 지도 효능감은 대처 방식과 밀접한 관련이 있었으며, 긍정적 변화 가능성 귀인과 지도 효능감이 높은 교사들이 낮은 학업성취 학생에 대하여 적극적 대처를 하는 것으로 제시되었다. 따라서 통합학급 교사에 대한 특수교육관련 연수를 강화하고, 일반학급 교사들의 재교육 과정에서도 특수교육 및 학습에 어려움을 보이는 학생에 대한 지도 방안을 안내함으로서 교사들의 낮은 학업성취 학생에 대한 귀인 속성을 개선하고, 적극적 지도 대처가 이루어질 수 있도록 해야겠다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted in order to examine the relations among teachers’ attribution characteristic, teaching efficacy and coping strategy for academically underachieving students. For the subjects of this study, we sampled 216 elementary school teachers at random from Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk‐do and other areas. According to the results of this study, elementary school teachers’ attribution for academic under-achievement was different according to background variables, and the personal internal attribution characteristic was observed more frequently in teachers with long experience in teaching, integrated education, and training on special education. In addition, teachers’ attribution and teaching efficacy in a close relation with their coping strategy, and teachers with attribution for positive change and high teaching efficacy used more active coping strategies for academically underachieving students. In particular, teachers with rich experience in integrated education and training on special education were found to have the negative attribution characteristic, and this result suggests the keen necessity to change the environment of integrated education and the contents of training programs on special education. Therefore, it is recommended to improve the contents of education in training programs for pre-service and in-service teachers.
