아동학대에 대한 장애아동 부모와 일반아동 부모의 인식 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애아동 부모와 일반아동 부모를 대상으로 아동학대 행위에 대한 인식의 정도, 학대 원인에 대한 인식, 학대를 당한 아동 발견 시 신고와 관련된 지식의 정도, 그리고 아동학대 예방 교육의 필요성에 대한 인식의 정도는 어떠하며 두 집단 사이에 차이가 있는지를 비교해 보고자 하였다. 연구 대상으로는 초등학교에 재학 중인 장애아동을 둔 부모 243명과 일반아동을 둔 부모 308명 등 총 551명이었으며 조사 도구로는 설문지를 사용하였다. 결과를 보면 먼저 두 집단 모두 방임, 정서적 학대, 신체적 학대의 3영역으로 구분되어 제시된 다양한 아동학대 행위들을 대체적으로 학대라고 인식하는 편이었다. 두 집단의 인식의 정도에 있어서 차이가 있는지를 비교해 본 결과로는 3영역 중 신체적 학대 행위 영역에서 장애아동 부모가 일반아동 부모보다 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 학대 원인에 대한 인식의 정도에서는 원하지 않던 자녀를 가졌기 때문이라는 항목을 제외하고는 두 집단의 반응이 매우 유사했으며, 학대를 당한 아동 발견 시 신고하는 기관과 관련된 지식의 정도는 두 집단 모두 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났고 두 집단 사이에 큰 차이가 없었다. 마지막으로, 아동학대 예방과 관련된 교육의 필요성에 대한 인식의 정도에 있어서 두 집단의 부모 모두 제시된 다양한 내용의 교육이 필요함을 지적하는 비율이 매우 높았으며, 교육 내용 각각의 필요성에 대한 인식의 정도 또한 두 집단이 비슷하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the present study was twofold. First, it investigated the degree of awareness toward child abuse behaviors, causes of child abuse, knowledge of reporting agencies and their phone number for an abused child, and the necessity of parent education for child abuse prevention, in the parents of children with and without disabilities. Second, it also examined whether there was difference in the degree of awareness between the two groups toward those factors. A 243 parents of children with disabilities and a 308 parents of children without disabilities participated for this study, and a survey was used to collect data. The results were as follows. First, both parent groups generally were aware of various child abuse behaviors composed of 3 categories including neglect, emotional abuse, and physical abuse. However, in the comparison of both groups, the parents of children with disabilities were more significantly aware of the physical abuse than those of children without disabilities. Second, both groups showed very similar response in their awareness of the causes of child abuse except that parents of children with disabilities agreed more on the factor of having unexpected child than those of children without disabilities. Third, both groups had little knowledge about reporting agencies and their phone numbers, and there was no difference between the two groups in their degree of knowledge for this factor. Finally, most parents of both groups agreed on the necessity of parent education programs for child abuse prevention. Discussion for the results was provided.
