국문 초록

본 연구는 수학적 요소가 있는 일상자료 활용 수학표상활동이 유아의 수학능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 교육현장에서 수학적 과정기술 접근에 대한 시사점을 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 유치원에 재원 중인 만 4세 유아 40명을 연구대상으로 실험집단 20명과 비교집단 20명으로 나누어 2012년 4월 4일부터 2012년 7월 18일까지 주 1회씩 총 14주에 걸쳐 활동을 적용하였다. 활동 적용 후 수학능력 검사를 실시하고, 유아가 어떠한 과정을 통해 수학표상활동을 전개하는지 전사한 자료를 질적 분석하였다. 연구결과 실험집단 유아의 수학능력이 유의미하게 향상되었으며, 수학적 요소가 있는 일상자료 활용 수학표상활동과정에서 규칙성, 측정, 공간과 도형, 수와 연산의 수학 개념에 따른 특성이 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 일상자료 활용 수학표상활동이 유아의 수학 능력 증진에 긍정적이라는 결과와 함께 유아수학교육에 있어 표상활동에 대한 시사점을 제공한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of mathematical representation activity with common living materials based on mathematical elements on young children's mathematics abilities. This was applied to 4-year-old children who were examined 1 time every week for 14 weeks: twenty 4-year children were an experimental group and twenty 4-year children were a control group. The results are as follows; First, the post-test result showed that there was a significant statistical difference between the experimental group and the comparative group in the total score of children's mathematical concepts. Second, the process of mathematical representation activity with common living materials based on mathematical elements show that young children are the characteristics of "pattern", measurement", "geometry and spatial sense", "number and operations" In conclusion, mathematical representation activity with common living materials based on mathematical elements is very effective for young children's mathematics abilities and helpful for using mathematical representation activity.
