아동·청소년기 신체건강, 자존감, 사회적위축과 학업열의 간 인과관계 종단분석: 잠재성장모형분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국청소년정책연구원에서 제공한 아동청소년패널2018 초4패널과 중1패널 데이터를 사용하여 아동·청소년의 신체, 심리 및 사회적 건강과 학업열의 간 인과관계를 탐색하였다. 분석 표본은 초4패널(초4, 초6, 중2)과 중1패널(중1, 중3, 고2) 각각 1차, 3차, 5차에 탈락하지 않고, 연구모형에 투입되는 변수에 결측치가 없는 초4패널 2,264명, 중1패널 2,190명이다. 분석방법은 아동·청소년의 신체, 심리 및 사회적 건강과 학업열의 간 종단적 인과관계를 확인하기 위하여 잠재성장모형을 설정하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 초4패널과 중1패널의 심리 및 사회적 건강은 학업열의에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인임을 확인하였다. 반면, 신체건강은 학업열의에 직접 미치는 효과는 확인하기 어려우나, 자존감과 사회적위축에 간접 영향으로 확인되고 있다. 결과적으로 아동·청소년의 학업열의는 신체건강을 기본으로 심리 및 사회적 건강이 직·간접적으로 인과관계 맥락을 나타내고 있으며, 특히 이러한 인과관계는 시간의 흐름에 따른 종단 효과도 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과는 신체, 심리 및 사회적 건강과 학업열의 간 인과관계를 확인할 수 있으며, 아동·청소년의 학업활동 제고를 위해 도움이 되는 기본 정보로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

This study explored the causal relationship between physical, psychological, and social health and academic enthusiasm of children and adolescents using the 2018 4th grade panel and 1st grade middle school panel data provided by the Korea Youth Policy Institute. The analysis sample is 2,264 4th grade panelists (4th grade, 6th grade, 2nd year of middle school) and 2,190 1st grade panelists (1st year of middle school, 3rd year of middle school, 2nd year of high school) who did not drop out in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th rounds and who did not have missing values in the variables entered into the research model. The analysis method was to establish a longitudinal causal relationship between the physical, psychological, and social health of children and adolescents and their academic enthusiasm using a latent growth model. The analysis results confirmed that the psychological and social health of the 4th grade panel and the 1st grade middle school panel were important factors influencing academic enthusiasm. On the other hand, it is difficult to confirm the direct effect of physical health on academic enthusiasm, but it has been confirmed to have an indirect effect on self-esteem and social withdrawal. The results of this study are expected to be useful as basic information to help improve the academic performance of children and adolescents.
