국문 초록

WTO의 가입으로 급격히 증가될 것으로 예상되는 중국기업의 한국 직접투자의 행태를 설명하기 위해 과학적이며 체계적인 연구의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 중국제조기업의 한국 진출시 가장 우선적으로 제기되는 소유지분 형태(단독, 합작)결정문제에 초점을 두고 실증분석을 시도하였다. 협상력 접근이론에 입각하여 중국제조기업의 한국진출에 있어서 소유지분에 영향을 미친 주요한 결정요인이 무엇이었으며, 이러한 결정요인이 소유지분에 미치는 영향을 분석하려는 목적에서 본 논문은 진행되었다. 한국에 진출하여 실제로 영업활동을 해온 중국 자회사를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 수집된 실증자료를 이용하여 통계분석을 시도하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 중국제조기업의 한국 직접투자에 있어서 소유지분 결정요인에 관한 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 투자기업의 기술력, 마케팅 능력, 현지 자회사의 본사 의존성, 현지 자회사의 본사에 대한 인력 의존성, 투자환경 위험도, 투자규모 등이 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 이 중에서 투자기업의 마케팅 능력, 현지 자회사의 본사 의존성, 현지 자회사의 본사에 대한 인력 의존성 등은 단독투자방식에 유의한 것으로, 투자기업의 기술력, 투자환경 위험도, 투자규모 등은 합작투자방식에 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 그동안 중국기업이 한국에 직접투자의 형태로 진출함에 있어서 소유지분을 결정하는 요인이 무엇이었는가를 확인하였으며, 이러한 요인과 소유지분간의 관계를 규명하였다.

영문 초록

Recently Chinese investment in Korea has increased rapidly and is expected to continue to grow in the future. Thus a study on the behavior of Chinese Firms investing in Korea is warranted. This study tries to analyze in depth the determination of ownership share(joint venture and foreign wholly owned enterprise) proposed at the first time a company is engaged in a foreign direct investment(FDI). The main purpose of this study is to test empirically both the determinants of ownership share and its effects on the FDI performance. This research was conducted in two stages. First, a research model was designed by reviewing relevant theories, previous studies, and the current investment situations. Second, a survey of Chinese Firms engaged in investment projects in Korea was done by collecting questionnaires from the relevant companies. On the basis of this survey, binary logistic regression analysis was used to test nine hypothesis. The empirical findings are as follows: First determinants of Chinese investment in Korea seem to include korean subsidiary’s dependency on their parent company, investor’s marketing ability, korean subsidiary’s dependency on the parents company’s manpower, investment risk, investor’s technology ability and scale of investment Second, among these investor’s marketing ability, korean subsidiary’s dependency on the parent company and foreign subsidiary’s dependency on the parent company’s manpower which had appeared to be regarded in the independent advance method, investment risk, investor’s technology ability and invest amount which had appeared to be regarded in the cooperation advance method.
