국문 초록

본 연구에서는 어머니의 거부민감성과 어머니-자녀 애착 간의 관계에 대한 어머니의 자기지향 완벽주의의 조절효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 만 5세에서 만 6세 사이의 학령 전기에 해당하는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니 279명을 연구대상자로 선정하였다. 어머니-자녀 애착에 관련된 배경 변인을 통제한 후 어머니의 거부민감성과 어머니-자녀 애착 간의 관계에 대한 자기지향 완벽주의의 조절효과를 알아보기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 어머니의 거부민감성이 높을수록 어머니-자녀 애착 수준은 낮은 것으로 나타났고, 높은 수준의 자기지향 완벽주의는 어머니-자녀 애착에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 어머니의 거부민감성과 어머니-자녀 애착 간의 관계를 어머니의 자기지향 완벽주의가 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 어머니의 거부민감성 수준이 높더라도 자기지향 완벽주의 성향이 높을수록 거부민감성이 어머니-자녀 애착에 미치는 부정적인 영향력을 낮출 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구의 결과는 어머니의 심리·성격적 특성과 자기지향 완벽주의의 적응적 기여를 동시에 고려하여 어머니-자녀 애착을 향상시키기 위한 부모면담을 통한 개입방법을 설계할 필요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the moderating effect of mothers’ self-oriented perfectionism on the relationship between their rejection sensitivity and the mother-child attachment. To this end, in this study, 279 mothers with children aged from 5 to 6 years were selected as study participants. After controlling for background variables related to the mother-child attachment, hierarchical regression analysis was performed to investigate the moderating effect of self-oriented perfectionism on the relationship between mothers’ rejection sensitivity and the mother-child attachment. As a result of the analysis, a higher mothers’ rejection sensitivity resulted in a lower level of the mother-child attachment. High levels of self-oriented perfectionism were found to have a positive effect on the mother-child attachment. Additionally, it was found that mothers’ self-oriented perfectionism moderates the association between their rejection sensitivity and the mother-child attachment. That is, even if the level of the mothers’ rejection sensitivity was high, it was found that a higher self-oriented perfectionism tendency resulted in a lower negative effect of the rejection sensitivity on the mother-child attachment. The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to design an intervention, such as psychological counseling, to improve the mother-child attachment by simultaneously considering mothers’ psychological and personality characteristics and the adaptive contribution of their self-oriented perfectionism.
