국문 초록

본 연구에서는 스토리텔링을 활용한 영양교육이 유아의 식습관과 영양 지식 및 언어표현력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울특별시 C유치원의 만 4세 A학급과 B학급의 유아들 각각 25명으로 구성되었다. 실험집단은 스토리텔링을 활용한 영양교육을 실시하였고, 비교집단은 교사지원에 따른 영양교육과 연계 활동, 일상생활에서 이루어지는 급간식 지도를 경험하였다. 연구 기간은 2015년 10월 19일부터 12월 11일까지 8주에 걸쳐 총 12회를 주 1-2회 진행하였다. 연구 결과 실험집단 유아들은 스토리텔링을 활용한 영양교육을 통해 유아의 식습관 태도 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 다양한 영양 지식을 습득할 수 있게 되었음을 알 수 있다. 또한 언어표현력이 향상되었음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 스토리텔링을 활용한 영양교육 경험은 유아들에게 영양교육에 대한 지식을 습득하여 습관화하고, 영양교육을 통해 알게 된 바람직한 식습관이 내면화되는 가치를 밝히는바, 유아들을 위한 영양교육방법으로 의미 있는 경험임을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study lies in exploring how the nutrition education that made use of storytelling affect children’s eating habits, knowledge on nutrition, and language expression ability. The subject of the study is four years old children on the C kindergarten in Seoul city. They were divided into two classes, A and B, and each class had 25 students. The teaching and learning process of the experimental group was this : They first heard the story, shared the nutrition related stories in the story, and had an activity connected to the topic. As for the comparative group, they were taught under a teacher who would plan and teach about the nutrition in daily lives, without the storytelling. They then would have education related activities, and the teacher would make use of meal and snack time to educate the children. The conclusions that were drawn after analysis results in this study are as follows. First, nutrition education activities that made use of storytelling gave a positive influence to children’s eating habits, whose components are hygiene perception and meal etiquette and attitude. The researcher believes that such activity rendered positive effects to the children as it caused them to examine their eating habits in the process of empathizing with the characters in the story. Second, the activity proved to be positive to components of child&s nutrition knowledge, such as food and nutrition, nutrition problem, nutrient, and special food. The researcher found out that the spontaneous and interesting experience in listening to the stories of the characters enabled them to grasp correct and various knowledge on nutrition more than the abstract and hazy methods of learning. Third, the activity positively influenced the ability to match content of the story, a component in subelement of children’s language expression ability. The research found out that children’s language express was improved as participating in the process of expressing their thoughts and opinions by interacting with characters rather than simply listening of the story.
