만 4세 하늘반 유아들의 일상적 문학향유에 대한 의미 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 만 4세 유아들이 일상적인 맥락 안에서 생성과 수용, 연결의 과정을 거치며 확장 및 심화한 문학향유의 사례를 분석하고 그 의미를 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 만4세 유아 28명과 담임교사 2명을 대상으로 10주 동안 참여관찰 및 면담을 실시하고 관련 문서를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 시간의 흐름에 따라 역동적으로 변화한 유아들의 문학향유 방식은 독자들의 경우 ‘표현하며 연결되는 감정들, 이해를 쌓아 관여를 빚어내기’로, 이야기판의 이야기꾼과 청중들은 ‘이야기 전하기에서 이야기하기로, 같지만 다른 이야기를 풀어내는 저마다의 목소리, 이야기판에서는 이야기판의 논리로 움직이기’로, 작가들은 ‘내 이야기로 홀로서기, 나와 네 이야기의 자리-공유의 공간, 나란히 함께하며 자리매김하기’로 범주화되었다. 본 연구는 유아들이 주체가 되어 문학향유 문화를 구성해가는 과정과 그 과정에서 드러난 제반 요소와 맥락들을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 문학이 유아들의 삶에 내면화되기 위해서는 유아들이 주체가 되어 문학을 향유하는 방식과 맥락, 공유가 가능한 문학적 의미 영역을 구축하고, 일상과 분화되지 않은 형태로 문학을 향유할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the enjoyment of literature by 4-year-olds that expands and deepen in their daily contexts through a process of generation, acceptance, and connection, and exploring its meaning. 28 children and 2 teachers in a classroom of 4-year-olds were observed for 10 weeks. In addition, various types of documents were collected, and interviews were conducted with these children and teachers. The children’s enjoyment of the literature, which dynamically changed over time, can be grouped into the following categories: for readers, “emotions connected through expression” and “create engagement through understanding”: for storytellers and audiences in the storytelling performance arena, “relaying stories to telling your own stories,” “each voice gives a different perspective,” and “at a storytelling performance arena, follow the storytelling performance arena rules,”: and for writers, “standing on my own with my stories,” “a place for my stories and your stories, a place of sharing,” and “build a shared literary semantic domain.” The significance of this study lies in the fact that it elucidated how young children build their culture of literary enjoyment, along with the overall elements and contexts revealed in the process. The findings of this study suggest that, in order to help children internalize literature in their lives, children should enjoy literature in which they are the subject and a shared literary semantic domain should be established. Finally, literature needs to be enjoyed in a format not separated from their daily lives.
