A Study on High-flex Education Methods Through Comparison of Flipped Learning Between Face-To-Face Learning and Real-Time Zoom Classes: A Case Study of a Chosun University

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육자들은 연구된 교수법을 실제 수업에 적용하고 사례 연구를 바탕으로 다양한 교수법의 만족도와 효과성을 비교하고 있습니다. 본 논문에서는 온라인 비디오 및 온라인실시간 줌(OV-ORTZ) 환경의 플립러닝과 온라인 비디오 및 오프라인 대면 수업(OV-OFFC) 환경에서의 학습자 만족도 및 학습 효과를 비교하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 이를 위해, 한국 조선대학교의 필수 교양 쓰기 과정인 “사고와 표현 2” flipped learning 수업이 온라인-온라인 및 온라인-오프라인 형식으로 진행되었다. 학습자 만족도와 학습 효과는 실시간과 대면 수업 환경 간에비교되었다. 이 논문에서는 서로 다른 학문 분야를 전문으로 하는 세 개의 단과대학에서 표본을선택하여 데이터셋으로 사용하였다. 표본 선택 시점과 방법에 따라 각각 2020년과 2022년에 실시간 줌을 사용한 온라인 수업과 대면 오프라인 수업에 대해 160명과 135명의 표본 주제를 대상으로 조사하였다. 결과는 학부 학생들이 일반적으로 OV-OFFC 환경에서 더 나은 성과를 보인반면, 직장인 성인 학습자들은 OV-ORTZ 환경에서 더 높은 학습자 만족도와 학습 효과를 보였음을 나타낸다. 이러한 결과는 학습자 만족도와 효과성은 디지털적 교육환경이 변화함에 따라 또학습자의 수요에 따라 학습 환경이 High-Flex 교육환경으로 변화요구하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

In Korean higher education, various teaching methods including flippedlearning have been studied. In this paper, we aimed to compare the learningsatisfaction and learning effectiveness of flipped learning in online-video andonline-real-time-zoom (OV-ORTZ) and online-video and offline-face-to-face-class(OV-OFFC) situations. To this end, we conducted the flipped learning class of “Thinking and Expression 2,” a required writing course at Chosun University, inboth online-online and online-offline formats. We compared the learningsatisfaction and learning effectiveness in real-time and face-to-face classenvironments. According to the results of the study, undergraduate studentsgenerally showed better academic achievement in the OV-OFFC environment,while working adult learners showed higher learning satisfaction and learningeffectiveness in the OV-ORTZ environment. These results suggest that learningsatisfaction and effectiveness may vary depending on the university and learningenvironment, and that universities can increase both satisfaction andeffectiveness by selecting and applying appropriate online learning methodsaccording to the characteristics and preferences of students.
