국문 초록

본 연구는 귀환 고려인들이 한국에서 종교적 실천을 통해 정체성을 재구성하고 새롭게 해석해 나가는 과정을 분석한다. 특히 본 연구에서는 개신교 교회에 참여하는 신자들의 사례를 통하여 이들이 과거의 디아스포라적 경험과한국 사회에서의 현재 삶을 연결하는 방식, 그리고 새로운 소속감과 자아 정체성을 형성하는 모습에 주목한다. 이 과정에서 고려인 교회는 단순히 출신국의 문화를 유지하는 공간이 아니라, 예배 형식, 언어 사용, 공동체 운영 방식등에서 고유한 종교문화적 양식을 만드는 장이 된다. 더 나아가 고려인 신자들은 신앙을 통해 자신들의 이주 역사와 정체성에 초월적 의미를 부여하고, 디아스포라적 삶을 종교적 ‘소명’으로 해석하는 새로운 정체성을 구성해나간다. 본 연구는 이러한 종교적 실천이 한국사회에 대한 적응이나 정체성 유지라는 차원을 넘어, 과거의 디아스포라 여정을 현재의 신앙적 실천과 접목시켜서 정체성을 주체적으로 재구성하는 과정임을 드러내고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the process through which repatriated Koryoin reconstruct and newly interpret their identities in South Korea through religious practices. In particular, the study focuses on the cases of Protestant church members, examining how they connect their past diasporic experiences with their present lives in Korean society and how they form new senses of belonging and self-identity. In this process, Koryoin churches serve not merely as spaces for preserving the culture of their countries of origin, but as sites where unique religious-cultural forms are created through worship styles, language use, and modes of community operation. Furthermore, Koryoin believers, through their faith, assign transcendent meaning to their migration histories and identities, and construct a new identity that interprets diasporic life as a religious “calling.” This study aims to reveal that such religious practices go beyond adaptation to Korean society or the maintenance of identity, and instead represent a process in which Koryoin actively reconstruct their identity by linking their past diasporic journeys with present religious practices.
