그림동화책 읽어주기가 다문화가정 아동의 언어능력 향상에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 그림동화책 읽어주기가 다문화가정 아동의 수용언어 및 표현언어 능력 향상에 미치는 영향을 밝히는데 있다. 연구대상은 전라남도 Y군에 위치한 W어린이집에 다니고 있는 다문화가정 아동 만 5세 남·여 각각 4명씩 8명을 선정하여 실험집단과 통제집단 구성하여 사회성숙도 검사와 인물화 간편지능 검사를 통하여 동질성 검사를 실시하였으며 수용언어 및 표현언어 능력의 향상정도는 취학 전 수용언어 및 표현언어검사(PRES)를 실시하여 그 효과를 알아보았다. 실험처치는 주 1회씩 총 12회 12주 동안 실시하였으며 회기당 소요 시간은 40분으로 하였다. 실험집단과 통제집단의 언어능력 측정은 PRES검사로 프로그램을 3회기 마칠 때마다 실시하였으며 통계처리는 SPSS WIN 12.0을 이용하여 반복측정 분산분석을 실시하여 비교하였다. 본 연구에서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그림동화책 읽어주기는 학령기 이전의 다문화가정 아동의 수용언어를 구성 단계별로 의미있게 향상시켜 주는 프로그램으로 수용언어 발달에 지체를 보이는 학령기 이전의 농촌지역 다문화가정 아동에게 그림동화책 읽어주기 프로그램은 유용하게 활용할 수 있다. 둘째, 그림동화책 읽어주기는 학령기 이전의 다문화가정 아동의 표현언어 구성 단계별로 의미있게 향상시켜 주는 프로그램으로 표현언어 발달에 지체를 보이는 학령기 이전의 농촌지역 다문화가정 아동에게 그림 동화책 읽어주기 프로그램은 유용하게 활용할 수 있다. 따라서 그림동화책 읽어주기는 학령기 이전의 농촌의 다문화가정 아동을 대상으로 의미있게 수용언어와 표현언어를 향상시켜줄 수 있는 프로그램으로 이를 기능적 언어발달 장애아동에게 일반화시켜 적용함으로서 언어발달 상승 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate on the effects of picture book reading on improvement of language skills of children in multi-culture family. For rhis study, 8 boys and girls aged 5 in full in multi-culture family were selected in a day care center in Y district, Jeollanamdo. They were divided into the test group and control group and the homogeneous structure was applied. PRES(Preschool Receptive- Expressive Language Scale) receptive-expressive language age test. The results of this study were as follows;First, reading picture books have positive effects for development of receptive language of children in multi-culture family. In particular, picture book reading program generated the positive effect in development of receptive language by stage by providing the opportunity to gradually and naturally improve the receptive language ability and so linking the improved receptive language to the self concept of children in multi-culture family. Second, reading picture books effectively improved the expressive language ability of children in multi-culture family. In particular, picture book reading program significantly improved the verbal and non-verbal expression ability in interaction with other children by providing the opportunity to gradually improve the expressive language ability with curiosity and confidence on integrated activity. In conclusion, it is estimated that reading picture books can play the significant roles as the effective intervention program, the integrated activity which can have on the improvement of language ability of children in multi-culture family.
