국문 초록

이 연구는 중학교 신입생의 시험불안과 학습전략, 학습동기, 학교생활적응의 구조적 관계를 확인하고, 시험불안과 학교생활적응의 관계에서 학습전략과 학습동기의 매개효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 부산, 울산, 창원 지역 5개 중학교에 재학 중인 1학년 학생 383명이었으며, 시험불안과 학습전략, 학습동기, 학교생활적응의 4개 검사로 수집된 자료는 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 중학교 신입생이 인식하는 시험불안은 학교생활적응에 직접적인 부적인 영향을 미치지만, 시험불안은 학습전략과 학습동기를 매개로 학교생활적응에 간접적인 영향도 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 시험불안과 학교생활적응의 관계에서 학습전략과 학습동기는 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 시험불안은 학교생활적응에 직접적으로는 부정적 영향을 미치지만, 학습전략과 학습동기를 매개로 하여 학교생활적응에 미치는 부정적 영향이 감소되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 중학교 신입생이 학습전략을 효과적으로 사용하고 학습동기를 긍정적으로 유지하면 학교생활적응에 미치는 시험불안의 부정적 영향을 완화할 수 있음을 시사한다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 중학교 신입생의 학교생활적응에 영향을 미치는 변인들의 구조적 관계를 이해하고 학교현장에서 접근할 수 있는 매개변인의 교육적 활용 방안이 모색될 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationships between test anxiety, learning strategy, learning motivation, and school life adaptation of middle school students in the 1st grade. The subjects of this study were 383first-year students attending five middle schools in Busan, Ulsan and Changwon. The data from four tests concerning test anxiety, learning strategy, learning motivation, and school life adaptation were analyzed by the structural equation model. The result indicate that the test anxiety perceived by middle school students in the transition period in the process of preparation for a test has a negative effect on school adaptation, and test anxiety has a negative effect on learning strategy and learning motivation. However, learning strategy and learning motivation had a positive effect on school adaptation. As a result of verifying the mediating effect, test anxiety showed a positive effect on school life adaptation through learning strategy and learning motivation. In other words, test anxiety had a direct negative effect on school adjustment, but the negative effect on school adjustment was reduced through learning strategy and learning motivation. These results suggest that if middle school freshmen use learning strategy effectively and maintain learning motivation positively, they can alleviate negative effects of test anxiety on school adaptation. Based on these results, this study discussed the implications and limitations of education and suggested the necessity of further research.
