적용 개념에 따른 다양한 평가의 필요성

국문 초록

2015 개정 교육과정에서 역량의 중요성이 부각되면서 이해의 전이를 향상시키는데 필요한 교수방법을 제공해주는 백워드 디자인(backward design)이 주목받는다. 그러나 백워드 디자인이 이론적 근거로 인용하는 Gadamer 해석학에서의 적용은 백워드 디자인의 적용과 관점이 다르다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 백워드 디자인과 Gadamer 해석학에서의 이해와 적용을 검토한 후 적용개념에 따른 다양한 평가의 필요성을 고려하는데 있다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 우선, 백워드 디자인에서는 바라는 결과로서의 목표를 ‘영속적인(enduring) 이해’로 규정함으로써 적용의 개념이 한정되었고 그로 인한 평가기준도 획일화되었음을 알 수 있었다. 반면, Gadamer는 니코마코스 윤리학을 근거로 ‘에피스테메(episteme)’, ‘프로네시스(phronesis)’, ‘테크네(techne)’와 같은 지적 탁월성의 종류에 따라 적용의 개념이 다르다고 주장한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 각 교과에서 추구하는 지적 탁월성에 따라 적용에 대한 평가기준을 다양화할 필요가 있음을 제안한다.

영문 초록

As the importance of competence is emphasized in the 2015 revised curriculum, Backward Design also attracts attention because it provides the best teaching method to improve the transfer of understanding. However, the ‘application in Gadamer’s hermeneutics, which is cited as theoretical grounds for Backward Design, is different from Backward Design. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to review understanding and application in Backward Design and Gadamer’s hermeneutics. The results are as follows. It was found that the concept of application was limited by defining the goal as the desired result in the Backward Design as enduring understanding. As a result, the assessment criteria were standardized. On the other side, Gadamer argues that the concept of application is different depending on the kind of intellectual excellence such as ‘episteme’, ‘phronesis’, ‘techne’ based on Nicomachean Ethics. Therefore, it is necessary to diversify evaluation criteria according to the intellectual excellence pursued in Backward Design.
