국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 중학생이 지각하는 교사훈육유형(민주형, 전제형)과 친사회적 행동 간의 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 중학생 308명을 대상으로 교사훈육유형, 자아존중감 및 친사회적 행동 검사를 실시하였다. 이들 변인들 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였고, 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 교사훈육유형(민주형, 전제형)과 자아존중감 및 친사회적 행동 간에 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였고, 민주형과 친사회적 행동 간의 관계에서 자아존중감의 부분매개효과가 검증되었다. 즉 민주형은 친사회적 행동에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 동시에 자아존중감을 부분매개로 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 반면 전제형과 친사회적 행동 간의 관계에서는 자아존중감의 완전매개효과가 검증되었다. 이 같은 연구결과는 중학생의 친사회적 행동에 영향을 미치는 자아존중감과 교사훈육유형에 대한 중재의 중요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to examine the mediating effects of self-esteem between teacher s discipline styles and prosocial behavior of middle-school students. 308 middle-school students were surveyed using the Teacher s Discipline Style Scale, Self-esteem Scale and Prosocial Behavior Scale. Correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship among these variables. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted to test the mediating effects of self-esteem. In conclusion from the results and discussions, there are positive correlations among teacher s discipline styles, self-esteem and prosocial behavior. Self-esteem operated as a factor to mediate between the teacher s discipline style (democratic) and prosocial behavior. This means that teacher s discipline style (democratic) affect both directly and indirectly prosocial behavior. Self-esteem operated as a factor to complete mediate between the teacher s discipline style (noninterventionist) and prosocial behavior. These results suggest the importance of psychological intervention to improve self-esteem and teacher s discipline style that affect prosocial behavior.
