미디어 리터러시(Media Literacy) 접근을 활용한 유아 디자인 교육에 대한 기초연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육현장에서 실시하고 있는 표현위주 미술활동의 한계점을 미디어 리터러시(Media Literacy) 접근을 활용한 유아 디자인 교육을 통해 개선해보고자 하는데 있다. 이를 위해 5세 누리과정, 유아미술교육, 유아디자인교육을 목표, 내용, 방법, 평가 4가지를 중심으로 문헌고찰을 하였다. 그 결과 유아 디자인 교육은 5세 누리과정의 목표인 ‘창의․인성교육’과 ‘통합교육과정’에 부합함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 표현위주의 유아미술교육의 문제점을 유아 표현이 실생활에 활용될 수 있도록 하기 위한 ‘유용성’, 구체적 적용에 따른 논리적 사고 향상을 위한 ‘과학 기술의 응용’, 아름다움을 추구하는 ‘심미성’을 둔 유아 디자인 교육을 해결안으로 제시하였다. 유아의 특성을 고려해 미디어 리터러시(Media Literacy) 접근의 문헌고찰을 통한 활용 가능성을 탐색하고 유치원 교육과정과 Bumette의 창의성 개발 디자인 프로세서 'I/DEPPE/I'모델을 기초하여 유아 디자인 교육의 접근 방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통해 미디어 리터러시 접근을 활용한 유아 디자인 교육은 유아교육현장 미술활동의 문제점을 개선 해 낼 수 있으리라 기대되며, 유아교육과정에서의 활용 가능성과 현장에서의 적용에 대한 가능성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

This study aims to improve the limitations of expression-oriented art activities in early childhood education using a media literacy approach. To do this, literature about the Nuri curriculum of kindergarten education, preschool art education, and preschool design education was reviewed, focusing on goals, contents, methods, and evaluation. As a result, it was understood that the preschool design education corresponded to the goals of kindergarten education - 'creativity/personality education' and 'integrated curriculum'; and the limitations of expression-oriented art activities in early childhood education were improved in a way of interpreting the products from 'usability', 'application of scientific technology', and 'aesthetics' in design education from the perspectives of values and signification. Furthermore, using a literature review method, the study has explored the possibilities of application through a media literacy approach taking into account the characteristics of children and then the approaches to the preschool design education based on the kindergarten curriculum and 'I / DEPPE / I' model which was Burnett's creative development design processor. The preschool design education using media literacy approach suggested in this study are expected to improve the limitations of art activities in early childhood education; to be used in the curriculum of preschooler education; and to be applied to the education field.
