그림책을 활용한 유아 수학 교육 연구 동향 분석 : 2000년 이후 논문을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 그림책을 활용한 유아 수학 교육 연구를 중심으로 그림책과 수학 내용, 그림책활동, 방법론적 동향을 종합적으로 분석함으로써 유아수학교육 분야의 학문 동향과 교육과정 변화가 우리나라의 관련 연구에 어떻게 반영되고 있는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해 2000년 이후부터 2012년 8월까지 발간된 학술지 및 석∙박사학위논문 총 93편을 분석하였다. 그림책을 활용한 유아 수학 교육 연구들이 활용하고 있는 그림책의 종류는 일반 그림책이나 수학 개념 그림책에 비하여 수학 관련 그림책이 가장 많이 사용되었으며, 그림책의 활용방법은 2007년 유치원 교육과정 개정 고시를 기점으로 조작적 물체로 활용하는 방법보다 수학 개념으로 활용하는 방법이 증가하였다. 연구들에 포함된 수학 내용을 분석한 결과 수와 연산이 가장 많았으며, 교육과정 개정 이후에 분류하기와 순서짓기가 감소한 반면 규칙성과 자료정리 및 결과는 증가한 것으로 나타나 교육과정 변화가 연구동향에도 반영된 것으로 보인다. 연구에서 제시된 그림책 관련 활동은 문제해결, 추론, 의사소통, 연계, 표상 활동 등의 수학 과정이 다양하게 나타났으나, 대부분 문제해결에 집중된 것으로 나타났다. 연구 방법 동향은 만5세 유아를 대상으로 차이검증을 사용한 실험연구가 가장 많이 나타났다. 본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 수학 교육 연구의 최근 동향을 분석함으로써 이 분야의 이론적, 실제적 흐름을 보여주고 앞으로의 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trend of early childhood mathematics education utilizing picture-book with the focus on the picture-book, mathematics contents, activity utilizing picture-book, and research method. Analyses were conducted on 69 domestic master and doctoral dissertations and on 24 journals published in Korea from 2000 to 2012. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, the most frequently used picture-book was "math-related books". Also since the 7th national kindergarten curriculum, math activities by choosing appropriate picture books that contain mathematical concepts, have increased in the methods of utilizing picture-books. Second, the most frequently studied content of mathematics was number and operation. Classification and seriation have decreased whereas algebra and data analysis have increased since the 7th national kindergarten curriculum. Third, the studies of early childhood mathematics education utilizing picture-books examined the various activities for problem solving, reasoning, communication, connections and representation, but the major activity utilizing picture-book was to survey activities for problem solving. Fourth, an experimental study with t-test, ANOVA for 5 year-old children was the predominant research methodology in this field.
