국문 초록

본 연구는 K-pop 팬의 개인주의-집단주의 성향과 팬 몰입도 간의 관계를 중심으로 팬 커뮤니티 동일시의 조절효과를 실증 분석하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 한국에 거주하거나 K-pop 팬 커뮤니티에 활발히 참여하는 10대 후반에서 30대 중반의 중국, 일본 및 동남아시아 출신 K-pop 팬 392명으로 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 집단주의 성향이 강한 팬들이 개인주의 성향 팬보다 더 높은 몰입도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 집단주의 성향 팬의 경우, 팬 커뮤니티 동일시를 통해 몰입도가 더욱 강하게 형성되었으며, 개인주의 성향 팬에게서도 긍정적인 영향이 발견되었다. 본 연구는 집단주의 성향 팬에게는 협업 활동을, 개인주의 성향 팬에게는 1인칭 시점의 창의적 콘텐츠를 지원하고, 팬덤 상징체계와 참여 의례를 활용하여 팬 커뮤니티 동일시를 높일 수 있음을 시사한다. 또한 문화권별 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 이벤트와 로컬 마케팅 전략을 마련함으로써 팬들의 몰입도를 극대화할 수 있음을 보여준다.

영문 초록

We empirically analyzed the moderating effect of fan community identification on the relationship between K-pop fans' individualism- collectivism tendencies and fan engagement. The sample consists of 392 K-pop fans aged from their late teens to mid-30s, residing in Korea or actively participating in K-pop fan communities. The findings reveal that fans with strong collectivist tendencies exhibit higher levels of engagement compared to fans with individualist tendencies. Additionally, a positive influence was also observed among fans with individualist tendencies. By presenting a new paradigm that explains the cultural characteristics and level of immersion within K-pop fandom, it is expected to offer insights for the development of global K-pop fan communities and the establishment of fan activity strategies based on cultural differences. Furthermore, the findings suggest that providing collaborative activities for fans with a collectivist orientation, offering first-person creative content for those with an individualist orientation, strengthening community identification through fandom symbolic systems and participatory rituals, and devising tailored events and local marketing strategies that consider the unique traits of each cultural context can all work to maximize fan engagement.
