국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 대학 교양교육과정에서 진로 관련 필수 이수 교과의 개설 동향 및 향후 방향성을 탐색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이는 대학생의 발달 과업 성취를 돕고, 교양 교과의 학술성과 보편성을 고려하여 진로 이론과 실제를 구성하는 것과 관련된다. 본 연구에서는 2024년 5월, 11월 총 2회에 걸쳐 국내 국공립 및 사립 종합대학의 권역별, 지역별 리스트를 토대로 학교 홈페이지의 최신 요람(2024; 2023) 등에 있는 교양교육과정 정보를 조사하였다. 연구 결과, 조사 대상 국내 국공립 및 사립대학은 졸업 이전까지 다양한 방식으로 진로 관련 영역의 교과를 기초교양 등에서 필수 이수 또는 균형교양 등에서 선택 필수로 수강하게 하고 있었다. 그 외에도 진로 관련 교과에 대한 다양한 선택지를 주면서 졸업 학점 이내에서 자유롭게 수강하도록 하고 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 대학생들의 진로 역량 함양의 중요성과 사회적 요구를 인식하고 대학 교양교육의 맥락에서 진로교육의 발전 방안을 모색할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore trends in the offering of career-related general education courses at universities in South Korea and examine future directions. The research focuses on supporting university students in achieving their developmental tasks while considering the academic and universal nature of general education by integrating career theory and practice. The study was conducted in two phases, in May and November 2024, by investigating the general education curriculum information available in the latest academic catalogs (2024, 2023) on the official websites of national, public, and private comprehensive universities across different regions. The findings reveal that universities require students to complete career-related courses in various ways—either as compulsory courses in basic general education or as required elective courses in balanced general education. Additionally, many institutions provide a range of elective career-related courses, allowing students to take them freely within the required graduation credits. This study highlights the importance of fostering career competencies among university students and responding to societal demands, offering insights into the development of career education within the context of general education at universities.
