국문 초록

본 연구는 챗GPT를 활용한 여성학 교양강의의 과제 분석을 통해, AI의 젠더 편향을 비판적으로탐색하고 이를 교수학습 전략으로 전환할 수 있는 교육적 가능성을 고찰하였다. 학술 에세이로 구성된수강생들의 과제물을 내용 분석한 결과, 학습자들은 챗GPT의 환각과 편향을 비판적으로 독해하며, 기술과 젠더의 관계를 탐색하고 재구성하는 다양한 실천을 수행했다. AI를 단순한 기술적 보조 수단을넘어 지식 생산과 사회 현실에 개입 가능한 자원으로 활용한 학습자들의 전략은 다음의 세 가지로유형화된다. 첫째, 챗GPT 응답에 내재된 데이터 및 알고리즘 편향을 분석함으로써 젠더 권력 구조를성찰하는 전략, 둘째, 챗GPT와의 대화 구조를 기반으로 젠더 수행성을 탐색하고 조정하는 전략, 셋째, AI와의 상호작용을 통해 성평등의 의미를 재기획하고 실천하는 전략이 그것이다. 이러한 전략은 여성학이 전통적으로 강조해 온 비판적 사고, 상호적 지식 구성, 참여적 실천이라는 교육철학과도 맞닿아있다는 점에서 의미심장하다.

영문 초록

This study explores the pedagogical potential of using ChatGPT to critically examine gender bias in artificial intelligence (AI), based on an analysis of student assignments from a general education course on women’s studies. As generative AI technologies become increasingly integrated into students’ academic and everyday practices, addressing their gendered implications has become a pressing task in feminist education. Through content analysis of 40 student essays, this research identifies three strategic approaches developed by students in their engagement with ChatGPT. First, students critically analyzed algorithmic and data-driven gender bias reflected in AI-generated responses. Second, they examined the dialogic interactions with ChatGPT as a site for exploring and reconstructing gender performativity. Third, students utilized AI conversations to collaboratively imagine alternative gender-equal discourses and social structures. These strategies move beyond binary framings of AI as either a neutral tool or a dangerous bias-reproducer. Instead, they position AI as a site for feminist critique, reflection, and transformation. The study highlights the potential of general education to cultivate ethical and critical engagement with technology, aligning with feminist pedagogy’s emphasis on reflexivity, collaboration, and praxis.
