국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 경남형 혁신학교인 행복학교에 재학 중인 초등학생들의 개인 특성에 따라 형성된 잠재집단을 식별하고, 시간의 흐름에 따라 이들이 어떻게 전이되는지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 혁신학교의 질적 고도와와 지속 가능성 확보를 위한 실증적 근거를 제시하는 것이 목적이다. 연구방법: 경남교육종단 1차(초등 4학년) 및 3차(초등 6학년) 자료를 활용하였으며, 분석 대상은 두 시점 모두 응답을 완료한 3,368명이다. 학생 특성을 기반으로 자기주도학습, 건강, 부모와의 의사소통, 수업태도, 학교교육만족도를 활용해 잠재 집단을 구분하고, 잠재전이분석(LTA)을 통해 시간에 따른 집단 변화 및 행복학교 효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 분석 결과, 상‧중‧하 3개 잠재 집단이 확인되었으며, 상위 집단은 학교교육만족도가 높았다. 시점 간 동일 집단 유지가 높게 나타났으나, 일부 하향 전이도 관찰되었다. 행복학교 학생은 비속한 학생에 비해 상향 전이 확률이 약 1.1~1.2배 높았으며, 잠재 집단 간 역량 평균은 상 집단 > 중 집단 > 하 집단의 뚜렷한 차이를 보였다. 논의 및 결론: 행복학교는 학생의 특성 향상에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있으며, 집단 특성에 따라 차별화된 지원이 요구된다. 특히 하위 집단에는 학습 동기 및 자기주도학습 향상, 상위 집단에는 심화 학습 기회 확대가 필요하다. 지역 한계, 자기선택편의 등 연구의 제한점을 고려할 때, 향후 다양한 지역과 자료를 활용한 후속 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the longitudinal effects of innovation schools on students' individual characteristics and competencies, and to empirically verify the policy effectiveness of “Happy Schools” by incorporating within-group heterogeneity into the analysis. Method: This study utilized data from the 1st and 3rd waves of the Gyeongnam Educational Longitudinal Study (GELS), focusing on 3,368 elementary school students who completed both surveys. Latent profile groups were identified based on student characteristics, including self-directed learning, health, parent-child communication, learning attitude, and school satisfaction. Latent Transition Analysis (LTA) was conducted to explore changes in group membership over time and to assess the effect of attending “Happy Schools”. Results: Three latent profile groups (high, medium, and low) were identified, with the high group characterized by higher school satisfaction. While group membership generally remained stable over time, downward transitions were also observed. Students attending “Happy Schools” demonstrated a 1.1 to 1.2 times higher probability of upward transitions compared to their peers in general schools. Significant differences in competency scores were found across latent groups, with the high group consistently outperforming the medium and low groups. Conclusion: The findings suggest that attending “Happy Schools” has a positive effect on enhancing student characteristics, although the magnitude of the effect varies by latent group. Targeted interventions are recommended, including motivation enhancement and self-directed learning programs for lower groups, and enrichment opportunities for higher groups. Given the study's regional and methodological limitations, further research incorporating diverse regions and addressing selection bias is warranted.
