「혹부리영감」의 이데올로기적 활용양상 연구 -일제강점기와 북한 사례를 중심으로-

국문 초록

본고는「혹부리영감」의 이데올로기적 활용양상을 일제강점기와 북한 초기를 중심으로 고찰하였다. 「혹부리영감」은 1910년 조선총독부에 의해 제작된 『조선물어집』에 최초로 실린 우리나라 민담이다. 이후 일제의 문화정책 중 식민지 아동을 대상으로 한 교육정책에서 활발히 활용된 교재이며 해방 후 북한에서도 아동의 교양교육 교재로 주목 되었다. 이에 본고는 어떤 교육적 가치와 의미가 「혹부리영감」에 내재되어 있는지를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 ‘거짓말’을 매개로 한 교훈성이 도덕성에 중점을 둔 이데올로기 교육에 적합한 교재로 선발 된 요소임을 알 수 있었다. 후반부에 나타나는 다양한 변이는 민담의 해학성과 골계미를 강화 시키며 더불어 선악대비에 따른 교훈성을 부각시킨다. 이러한 교훈성은 ‘착한 어린이’의 특성으로 부각되며 정권에 순응하는 순종적 인간을 양성하는 데 좋은 교재 역할을 하였다. 이에 본고에서는 이러한 특성이「혹부리영감」을 이데올로기적 활용이 가능한 텍스트로 자리하게 함을 밝혔다. 향후 과제로 남한의 경우를 분석하여 비교한다면「혹부리영감」에 내재된 교육적 특성이 보다 선명하게 드러날 것이다. 이는 옛이야기의 가치와 활용이란 측면에서 후세대 교육에 필요한 결과로 이어질 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to find the factors which make it possible to apply the ideological characteristics of Folk-tale. is a traditional folk-tale which was first published in produced by the Japanese Government-General of Korea in 1910. After then, it was one of the most actively used educational materials to teach Japanese cultural policy for Korean children. In addition, after liberation from Japanese Invasion, it was listed in the catalogue of books which was published as cultural subjects for the children in North Korea. Thus, this paper is aimed to find the ideological application of the educational value and meaning inherent in the from the perspectives of Folk tale and Ideology. As for results, the author found many variants in the second half of the which typically belongs to the structure of the imitation. Variants were composed of the keyword, ' lie or fabrication'. This is because ' lie or fabrication' could function effectively to teach 'the rewarding the good and punishing the wicked' from the dichotomous ideological viewpoint. This structure shows the value and meaning of teaching materials in facillitating the ‘nice children project’ propaganda during the Japanese invasion, as well as in North Korea. Yet-iyagi keeps many kinds of 'lie-related stories'. But, has several advantages compared to Yet-iyagi. Being an 'Imitating Story', it puts great emphasis on the ‘Good and Bad Contrasts Issues’ and Education Issues'. This shows that there exist significant differences between the 'lie in the Hokpuri Harabŏji and the other many 'lie-related stories'. Although the addition of many variants to the second half of the Hokpuri Harabŏji to emphasize the ‘Good and Bad Contrast’, only increased the humourism and witticism, it did not change any general structure of the story. This is the main reason why was chosen as appropriate teaching material for the Education of Ideology based on morality. Conclusively, this paper made it clear that could be used as a textbook for ideological application because of its inherent characteristics. In addition, the result of this paper keeps its important value in the sense that it proved that Yet-iyagi can be used for the purpose of propaganda. In the future, if we compare the stories of South Korea with those of North Korea, the inherent educational characteristics will reveal themselves very clearly. And it will lead to effective education for future generations from the perspective of value and application of Yet-iyagi.
