만 1세 신입영아교사의 어려움 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 만 1세 신입영아교사들이 겪는 실제적 경험의 사례들을 통하여 어떠한 어려움의 요소들이 있는지 살펴보고 이를 분석하는 과정을 통해 영아교사에게 직전교육이나 현장에서 어떠한 지원전략들이 마련되어야 할지를 고찰해 보고자하였다. 만 1세를 담당하고 있는 신입영아교사 3인을 대상으로 4개월간 심층면담을 실시하고 이를 범주화 하고 분석하는 과정을 통해 도출한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신입영아교사는 영아의 요구를 이해하는 것에서 어려움을 겪었는데 이러한 어려움은 영아의 표현 언어의 한계와 월령에 따른 급격한 행동변화에서 기인하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 신입영아교사는 영아의 발달특성과 월령에 따른 편차, 그리고 다양한 딜레마 상황에서 영아지도의 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 신입영아교사는 동료 경력교사와 소통 및 철학의 불합치로 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 신입영아교사는 부모와의 관계에서 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study observes through actual cases what factors of difficulty are experienced by beginning infant teachers who teach 1 year olds and through analysis processes, examines what supportive strategies must be provided to infant teachers in preservice education and in the field. In pursuit of these study objectives, the following key question is explored, ‘What factors of difficulty are experienced by beginning infant teachers who teach 1 year olds?’. After conducting in-depth interviews over a period of 4 months on three infant teachers who teach 1 year olds, then categorizing, and analyzing the data, the following results were drawn. First, there were difficulties for beginning infant teachers in understanding the infants’ demands and such difficulties arose from limitations in the expressive language of infants and rapid changes in behavior according to monthly age. Second, beginning infant teachers were having difficulties in understanding the developmental characteristics of infants, deviations according to monthly age, and infant guidance in various dilemmas. Third, beginning infant teachers had difficulties due to discordance in philosophies or communication with experienced colleagues. Fourth, beginning infant teachers had difficulties in their relationships with parents.
