분석심리학적으로 본 동화「성냥팔이 소녀」

국문 초록

본 연구는 동화『성냥팔이 소녀』를 융의 분석심리학적 접근으로 동화를 분석하여 동화 속에 내포된 교육적 함의를 찾고자 하였다. 분석방법은 동화에 나타난 상징에 대한 의미를 융의 기본저작집에 의거해서 해석 하였으며, 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소녀는 환상을 통해서 정신세계가 균형을 이루어가며 결핍된 인격적 요소들이 보완되어 소녀의 정신세계가 균형을 이루도록 한다. 이는 유아의 환상성과 무의식의 세계가 새롭게 자신을 만들어가는 창조성의 근원임을 알게 한다. 둘째, 소녀의 곁에 성인 여성이 없다는 것은 모성성의 상실을 의미하며 이는 생명력의 약화로 소녀의 죽음과 맥을 같이 한다. 즉, 소녀의 내면세계의 약화는 죽음과 같으며 유아기 환상능력은 이러한 죽음과 같은 절망을 일으켜 세우는 정신적 에너지임을 보여 준다. 셋째, 소녀와 할머니와의 조우는 소녀가 개성화의 길로 들어섰음을 보여준다. 개성화란 자아실현 즉, 정신적 요소의 균형 내지 전체성을 의미 한다. 이러한 결과를 통해 「성냥팔이 소녀」에서 나타난 교육적 함의는 첫째 치유로서 환상성, 둘째 죽음과 재탄생, 셋째 전인격교육과 개성화이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to seek for the educational implications that are contained in a fairy tale, by analyzing the fairy tale titled 『The Little Match Girl』with the application of Jung's analytical psychology. As for an analytical method, a meaning on a symbol, which was shown in a fairy tale, was analyzed with relying upon Jung’s basic writings. The analytical results are as follows. First, the girl proceeds with forming the balance in mental world through fantasy and is supplemented the lacking character elements, thereby allowing the girl's mental world to be balanced. This leads to knowing that a child's fantasy and unconscious world are the origin of creativity that proceeds with making oneself newly. Second, what there is no adult woman beside the girl means a loss of maternity. This has the same context as the girl's death due to the weakening in vitality. In other words, the weakening in the girl's inner world is like death. The fantastic ability in childhood is shown to be mental energy that makes this despair like death stand. Third, a meeting between the girl and a grandmother shows that the girl entered the way to individualization. Individualization implies self-realization, namely, the balance or the allness of mental element. Through this outcome, the educational implications, which were shown in 『The Little Match Girl』, include, first, fantasy as healing, second, death & rebirth, and, third, whole personality education & individualization.
