정신지체 특수학교 교육과정에 따른 직업교육의 체계 변천

국문 초록

이 연구는 1974년, 1983년, 1989년, 1998년, 2008년에 제ㆍ개정된 우리나라 정신지체 특수학교 교육과정을 살펴보면서 직업교육의 체계가 어떻게 변천되었는지 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법은 문헌연구이며 정신지체 특수학교 교육과정과 관련된 법령이나 고시를 1차 자료로 활용하였다. 연구의 결과, 정신지체 특수학교 교육과정과 직업교육과정 체계를 분석ㆍ제시하였으며 교육과정 성격, 학교급별 편제, 직종 설정, 시간배당기준, 편성ㆍ운영지침의 측면에서 논의를 하였다. 논의의 내용으로, 직업교육과정의 성격은 다른 교과에서 다루어지고 있는 학습된 여러 분야의 지식과 기능을 서로 연결하고 통합하는 종합적 생활교과로 볼 수 있다. 또한 학교급별 편제는 중학교와 고등학교를 구분하는 교육과정을 개발할 필요가 있으며, 직종은 직업에 대한 기본적인 직업 능력과 태도를 함양하고 직업적성과 흥미를 파악하는 데 제한적으로 활용할 수 있다. 그리고 직업교과 시수는 2008년 교육과정에서 대폭 줄어들었는데, 그 시수는 결정과정에서 타당한 근거나 합의를 찾을 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 이러한 결정은 교육과학기술부에서 최근 직업교육을 점차 강조되고 있는 경향과도 일치하지 않는다. 교육과정 편성ㆍ운영지침에서는 실습, 지역사회 기관과의 연계활동, 현장실습이 지속적으로 강조되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to review and analyse the change of curriculum and vocational education systems for special school for students with mental retardation in years of 1974, 1983, 1989, 1998, and 2008. Research method was mainly literature review and analysis of related laws and notice of the Ministry of Education as well as other research reports, books, and materials. As results of the study, curriculum and vocational education systems were presented in each year. The study included discussions in five areas: Characteristics of curriculum, composition of middle and high school levels, technology subject, allocation of hours, and organization and operation of curriculum. Vocational education has a characteristic of connecting and integrating knowledge and functions of other subjects and a comprehensive life centered subject. Vocational education needs to be composed of middle and high school curriculum separately considering different career development stage and focus of vocational education contents between two school levels. Technology subjects should be used in a limited way to train basic vocational competency and attitude and to find out vocational interests and aptitude for students with mental retardation. The allocation of hours for vocational education was decreased considerably without reasonable grounds or agreement among related personnel, which is in discord with the recent emphasis of vocational education from the Ministry of Education and Korean National Institute for Special Education. Practice, cooperation with institutes in community, and field training have been emphasized as criteria of organization and operation of vocational education curriculum.
