영문 초록

This paper aims to seek for how literature plays a role as the information sources to communicate critically in multicultural societies to readers. The people who are living in Korea are composed of mainstream Korean members and the members with multicutural backgrounds. It is necessary for every member to inspect themselves critically, to see other members with careful concern and to speak to one another with open minds. This is called critical communication. To communicate critically, the members should know how other members live, work, and think, etc. That is, they must get the information of those people. Literature can be a very good material for this purpose. That is because Literature reflects the real world with artistic forms, so makes the readers get the information of multicultural societies more naturally. The short stories of ｢ Saeggiya Supermarket｣ from Sibaek Lee, ｢Night there, Songs here｣ from Aeran Kim and the poems ｢Chebul(a delay in payment)｣’, ｢Daemulim(inheritance)｣, ｢ Hangook Ai(A Korean child)｣ and ｢Samchoneun beorigo ogo, chokaneun derigo ogo(The uncle leaving her there, the nephew taking her home)｣ from Jongo Ha were selected and analysed to show which information the readers can get from the literature.
