국문 초록

한국과 호주는 서로의 수출입 규모에서 차지하는 비중이 각각 4위, 8위를 차지할 만큼 중요함에도 불구하고, 아직 무역 규모의 불충분 및 무역역조의 심화라는 문제점이 있는 것도 사실이다. 본 논문은 무역업계 및 학계에 호주의 무역 및 통상제도와 현황을 설명함으로써 한국 기업의 對호주 진출을 늘리는데 일조하고자 하는 바람에서 작성되었다. 논문은 크게 3부분으로 구성된다. 우선 호주의 무역 및 통상현황을 살펴봄으로써 수출시장으로써 호주의 중요성과 우리나라와의 관계를 개괄적으로 살펴보았다. 둘째, 호주의 무역제도 및 현황을 소개하여 무역업계와 학계에 대한 호주 무역제도 및 현황에 대한 이해를 제고하고, 이에 따른 우리 기업의 對호주 진출을 확대하기 위한 호주의 상관습 등을 소개하였다. 끝으로 호주의 WTO, DDA 및 RTA 등 통상전략을 살펴보고, 이에 따른 우리나라와의 FTA체결 필요성을 검토하였다.

영문 초록

Korea and Australia have deeply related each other in terms of trade for the past several decades. On the other hand, there are also some problems. First of all, we have structural and chronic trade deficit from Australia. Second, the our country's export volume to Australia is too small by 1.44%(US$4,692million) of total export amount. The object of this paper is to increase export volume more and diminish trade deficit against Australia. For the purpose of object, I researched the present trade and commerce condition, trade procedures and policies in Australia. and I was willing to suggest traders to expand to Australian market. Australia government's highest trade priority is Doha Round of multilateral negotiations in the Wold Trade Organization. At the same time Government is maintaining their emphasis on negotiation bilateral free trade agreement. Australia has already free trade agreements with New Zealand, Thailand, USA, Singapore and begin negotiations with ASEAN, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Japan and China. Now we can also study on the necessity of Korea－Australia Free Trade Agreement.
