제주이해(제주정체성)교육으로 살펴본 인정도서 『제주배움』: <탐라개국신화> 주제를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 제주이해(제주정체성)교육 관련 도서의 개발 방향을 제시하기 위해 인정도서 『제주배움 4』의 <탐라개국신화> 주제를 비판적으로 분석하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 제주이해(제주정체성)교육의 성격과 <탐라개국신화>에 담긴 제주정체성이 무엇인지 살펴보았다. 그리고 제주이해(제주정체성)교육의 관점으로 『제주배움 4』 인정도서의 <탐라개국신화> 주제를 비판적으로 분석한 후, 『제주배움』 인정도서의 개발 방향을 제시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 우선, 제주이해(제주정체성)교육은 다음과 같은 성격을 지니고 있다. 첫째, ‘제주정체성 확립’과 ‘다중시민성(다중정체성) 함양’을 목표로 한다. 둘째, ‘제주정신’을 가르치되 이를 ‘다른 지역및 세계와의 비교’를 통해 가르쳐야 한다. 셋째, ‘학생 중심 탐구식 교수․학습 방법과 기법’의 활용을 권장한다. 다음으로, <탐라개국신화>에는 융합성, 현세성, 평등성, 합리성이라는 제주정신이 담겨 있다. 『제주배움 4』 인정도서를 분석한 결과, 제주정체성 및 다중시민성(다중정체성) 관련 요소들이 일정 부분 포함되어 있으나, 제주이해(제주정체성)교육의 본질적 목표에 접근하기에는 다소 부족한 점이 있다. 그리고 학생 중심 활동을 반영하여 내용을 구성하고 있으나, 탐구학습 및 문제제기식 문제해결학습을 보다 강조할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로, 향후 지속적으로 개발될 제주이해(제주정체성)교육 관련 인정도서는 ‘제주정체성’과 ‘다중시민성(다중정체성)’을 보다 명확히 드러내야 하고, 학생 중심의 탐구학습 및 문제제기 방식의 문제해결학습을 교재 구성에 반영해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study, based on the perspective of Jeju understanding (Jeju identity) education, the theme of of the approved book 『Jeju Learning 4 (for 4th grade)』 was analyzed. After that, the direction of development of approved books related to Jeju understanding (Jeju identity) education to be developed in the future was presented. The results of the study are as follows. First of all, Jeju understanding (Jeju identity) education has the following characteristics. First, it aims to ‘stablish Jeju identity’ and ‘cultivate multiple citizenship’ (multiple identity). Second, the ‘Jeju spirit’ should be taught, but it should be taught through ‘comparison with other regions and the world’. Third, it is recommended to use ‘student-centered inquiry teaching and learning methods and techniques’. Next, contains the Jeju spirit of the amalgamative characteristics, the secular characteristics, the equality and the rationality. As a result of analyzing the approved book of 『Jeju Learning 4』, some elements related to Jeju identity and multiple citizenship(multiple identities) were included, but it was somewhat insufficient to approach the essential goal of Jeju understanding (Jeju identity) education. In addition, although the contents were composed by reflecting student-centered activities, it was found that more emphasis was needed on inquiry learning and problem-solving learning in a problem-raising method. Finally, the approved books related to Jeju understanding (Jeju identity) education, which will be continuously developed in the future, should more clearly reveal “Jeju identity” and “multiple citizenship (multiple identities)”, student-centered inquiry learning and problem-solving learning based on problem-raising methods should be reflected in the textbook composition.
