국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 상실을 경험한 노인들을 대상으로 의도적 반추, 외상 후 성장, 자아초월 및 노년초월간의 관계를 탐색하고, 의도적 반추가 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향을 확인하며, 외상 후 성장과 노년초월간의 관계에서 자아초월의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 건강, 관계, 사별 상실을 경험한 만 65세 이상 노인 265명을 대상으로 구조방정식 모형을 설정하였으며, 자료 분석에는 SPSS 29.0과 AMOS 29.0을 사용하였다. 연구결과: 노인들의 의도적 반추, 외상 후 성장, 자아초월은 모두 서로 정적상관을 보였고, 노년초월은 외상 후 성장과 자아초월 모두와 유의한 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 다음으로 의도적 반추가 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미치고 외상 후 성장이 자아초월을 매개로 노년초월에 영향을 미치는 연구모형의 적합도가 대안모형보다 높게 나타났다. 연구모형에서 의도적 반추는 외상 후 성장에 긍정적 영향을 미치고, 외상 후 성장이 자아초월을 매개로 노년초월에 영향을 미치는 경로가 유의미하였다. 또한 외상 후 성장이 노년초월에 미치는 직접효과는 유의미하지 않아 외상 후 성장이 노년초월에 이르는 경로에서 자아초월이 완전 매개하였다. 결론: 본 연구는 의도적 반추, 외상 후 성장, 자아초월, 노년초월 간의 관계를 탐색적으로 검증하였다. 이를 통해 상실을 경험한 노인의 심리사회적 성숙을 이해하는 데 기초자료를 제공하였다.

영문 초록

Objective: This study examined the relationships among deliberate rumination, post-traumatic growth (PTG), self-transcendence, and gerotranscendence in older adults who have experienced loss. Specifically, the study investigated whether deliberate rumination influences PTG, and self-transcendence mediates the relationship between PTG and gerotranscendence. Methods: A structural equation model was established with data from 265 adults aged 65 years and older, who had experienced losses related to health, relationships, or bereavement. Analyses were performed using SPSS 29.0 and AMOS 29.0. Results: Significant positive correlations were observed among deliberate rumination, PTG, and self-transcendence. In addition, gerotranscendence was significantly and positively correlated with both PTG and self-transcendence. Structural equation modeling indicated that the research model had a better fit than the alternative model, demonstrating that deliberate rumination influences posttraumatic growth, and that posttraumatic growth affects gerotranscendence through the mediation of self-transcendence. In the research model, individuals who engaged in higher levels of deliberate rumination experienced greater PTG, which enhanced self-transcendence, ultimately promoting gerotranscendence. Notably, the direct effect of PTG on gerotranscendence was not significant, indicating that self-transcendence fully mediated this relationship. Conclusions: This study contributes to the understanding of psychsocial development in older adults and provides foundational data for future research by identifying the paths among deliberate rumination, PTG, self-transcendence, and gerotranscendence in the context of loss.
