청소년의 팬덤활동 유형에 따른 잠재집단 분류와 예측요인 분석

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 청소년의 팬덤활동 유형을 분류하고, 각 유형의 소속에 영향을 미치는 예측 요인을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 팬덤 문화가 청소년 문화의 중요한 부분으로 자리잡음에 따라, 이를 단순한 여가 활동이 아닌 청소년의 정체성 형성과 사회적 관계 구축에 기여하는 심리사회적․발달적 맥락에서 이해할 필요가 있다. 연구방법: 본 연구에는 한국청소년정책연구원이 실시한 한국아동ㆍ청소년패널조사2018 (KCYPS 2018) 5차년도 자료를 활용하였으며, 연구대상은 고등학교 2학년 837명(남학생 386명, 46.15%)이었다. 분석은 Mplus 8.3을 사용하여 잠재 프로파일 분석(LPA)을 실시하여 팬덤활동 유형을 식별하고, 심리적 특성, 스마트폰 의존도, 양육 방식이 유형에 미치는 영향을 다항 로지스틱 회귀 분석으로 검증하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 청소년의 팬덤활동은 ‘소극적 온라인 향유형’, ‘오프라인 직접 활동형’, ‘온라인-소장 복합 활동형’의 세 가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 성별, 심리적 특성(자아존중감, 공격성, 신체적 증상, 협동성), 스마트폰 의존도 하위 요인(생활장애, 가상세계지향, 금단, 내성), 양육태도(온정성, 자율성 지원, 구조)가 팬덤활동 유형과 유의미하게 관련이 있었다. 결론: 본 연구는 청소년의 팬덤 참여를 개인의 심리적 특성과 양육 환경이 반영된 문화적 적응 전략으로 제시하며, 팬덤활동이 청소년의 정체성 형성과 정서 발달에 기여할 수 있는 심리사회적 자원임을 시사한다. 이러한 결과는 팬덤활동을 청소년 문화의 중요한 요소로 인정하고, 정책적․실천적 지원 방안을 마련하는 데 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objective: This study aimed to classify types of fandom activities among adolescents and identify predictors influencing membership in each type, recognizing fandom as a psychosocial and developmental context for identity formation and social relationships. Methods: Data were drawn from the fifth wave of the 2018 Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), including 837 second-year high school students (386 males, 46.15%). Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) using Mplus 8.3 was used to identify various types of fandom activities. Multinomial logistic regression was employed to examine the effects of psychological characteristics, smartphone dependency, and parenting styles on the classification types. Results: Three distinct fandom activity types emerged: (1) passive online engagement, (2) offline active participation, and (3) online participation-collecting hybrid. Gender, psychological traits (self-esteem, aggression, somatic symptoms, and cooperativeness), smartphone dependency subfactors (functional impairment, virtual life orientation, withdrawal, and introversion), and parenting styles (warmth, autonomy support, and structure) were significantly associated with the classification types. Conclusions: Fandom participation serves as a cultural adaptation strategy shaped by adolescents’ psychological traits and parenting environments, functioning as a psychosocial resource for identity formation and emotional development. The findings highlight the need for policies and practices that acknowledge fandom as a meaningful aspect of adolescents’ cultural and emotional lives.
