국문 초록

연구목적: 대학생의 아동기 외상이 사회적 위축에 미치는 영향에서 비합리적 신념의 병렬 다중 매개 효과를 규명하고자 한다. 연구방법: 대학생 211명을 대상으로 온라인 설문지(google form)를 활용하여 실시하였다. SPSS 25와 Hayes (2022) PROCESS macro 프로그램을 활용하였다. SPSS를 활용하여 기초 분석으로 변인의 기술 통계 및 변인들 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 이어서 PROCESS macro (Model 4)를 사용하여 본 연구에서 설정한 병렬 다중 매개 모형의 직접 경로에 따른 유의성과 Bootstrapping 절차를 통한 병렬 다중 매개 모형의 매개 효과 유의미성을 확인하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 아동기 외상은 사회적 위축에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 자기 비하와 편안함 욕구라는 비합리적 신념을 통해 사회적 위축을 유발하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성취 욕구와 공정성 요구는 아동기 외상과 사회적 위축 사이에서 유의미한 매개 역할을 하지 않았다. 셋째, 인정 욕구는 다른 비합리적 신념들이 통제되었을 때, 오히려 사회적 위축을 감소시키는 억제 변인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 아동기 외상은 사회적 위축에 직접적인 영향을 주기보다는 자기 비하와 편안함 욕구라는 비합리적 신념을 통해 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 본 연구에서 발견된 인정 욕구의 억제 효과는 상담 개입에 새로운 방향을 제시한다. 일반적으로 부정적으로 간주되는 인정 욕구가, 자기 비하와 같은 부정적 요소들이 줄어든 특정 심리적 맥락에서는 오히려 사회적 위축을 감소시키는 긍정적인 동기로 작용할 수 있음이 밝혀졌다.

영문 초록

Objective: To investigate the parallel multiple mediating effects of irrational beliefs on the relationship between childhood trauma and social withdrawal in college students. Method: An online survey 211 students was conducted using Google Form. IBM SPSS version 25 was used for descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. PROCESS macro program (Model 4) was employed to determine the significance of the direct paths in the parallel multiple mediation model and to confirm the mediation effects using a bootstrapping procedure. Results: First, childhood trauma did not have a direct impact on social withdrawal but influenced it indirectly through the irrational beliefs of self-denigration and the need for comfort. Second, the need for achievement and the demand for justice did not play a significant mediating role between childhood trauma and social withdrawal. Third, when other irrational beliefs were controlled, the need for approval emerged as a suppressor variable, reducing social withdrawal. Conclusion: Childhood trauma does not directly cause social withdrawal. Instead, it indirectly influences it through irrational beliefs such as self-depreciation and a desire for comfort. Furthermore a suppressive effect of the need for approval was identified, which suggests a new direction for counseling. While the need for approval is typically seen as a negative trait, this finding indicates that in specific psychological contexts—wherein negative factors such as self-depreciation are reduced—it can act as a positive motivator that reduces social withdrawal.
