심리극 전문가의 디렉팅 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 심리극 전문가들의 디렉팅 경험을 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 탐색하였다. 심리극은 내담자의 심리적 통찰과 변화를 촉진하는 치료적 기법으로, 디렉터의 역할이 치료 효과에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 그러나 심리극 디렉터의 경험과 전문적 성장에 대한 연구는 아직 미비하므로, 본 연구는 디렉터의 역할 수행과 개입 방식을 심층적으로 이해하고 심리극의 효과를 극대화하는 방안을 모색하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구참여자로 심리극 전문가들을 선정하여 심층 면담을 진행하였으며, Giorgi의 분석 절차를 적용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 심리극 디렉터의 경험은 ‘호기심을 자극하는 장면에 대한 강렬한 이끌림’, ‘지속적인 슈퍼바이저의 피드백으로 발전됨’, ‘효과적 기법 활용으로 다양한 디렉팅 경험’, ‘행위화에 따른 안전의식의 중요성을 인식함’, ‘심리극의 한계를 알아차려 감’의 다섯 가지 본질적 주제로 도출되었다. 디렉터는 내담자의 감정적 저항을 극복하는 과정에서 심리적 도전을 경험하며 전문성을 향상시키지만, 심리극의 즉흥적 특성과 역할 수행의 복잡성으로 인해 심리적 소진과 역할 갈등을 경험하기도 하였다. 본 연구는 심리극 디렉터의 경험을 탐색함으로써 디렉터 양성 및 훈련 프로그램 개발에 기초 자료를 제공하고, 심리극의 치료적 효과를 극대화하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study explored the directing experience of psychodrama experts by applying Giorgi’s phenomenological research method. Psychodrama is a therapeutic technique that promotes psychological insight and change in the client, and the role of the director has an important influence on the effectiveness of the treatment. However, since research on the experience and professional growth of psychodrama directors is limited, this study aims to understand the director’s role performance and intervention methods in depth and seek ways to maximize the effectiveness of psychodrama. Psychodrama experts were selected as participants for in-depth interviews, and the data were analyzed using Giorgi’s analysis procedure. As a result, the experience of psychodrama directors was derived from five essential themes: ‘intense attraction to scenes that stimulate curiosity’, ‘developed through continuous supervisor feedback’, ‘various directing experiences through effective use of techniques’, ‘awareness of the importance of safety consciousness due to behavior’, and ‘awareness of the limitations of psychodrama’. The director experienced psychological challenges and improved his expertise in the process of overcoming the client's emotional resistance, but he also experienced psychological exhaustion and role conflict due to the improvisational nature of psychodrama and the complexity of role performance. This study will provide basic data for the development of director training and training programs by exploring the experience of psychodrama directors, and contribute to maximizing the therapeutic effect of psychodrama.
