국문 초록

본 연구는 높은 이혼율을 보이고 있는 신혼기 부부의 친밀감 형성에 기여하는 요인을 탐색하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 개인의 내적 모델과 대인간 모델을 통합하여 부부관계를 설명하는 맥락모델의 관점에서, 신혼기 남녀의 내면화된 수치심이 부부친밀감에 미치는 영향이 관계진솔성과 지각된 배우자 지지에 의해 순차매개가 되는지 검증하였다. 이를 위해 초혼 후 5년 이하의 자녀가 없는 신혼기 남녀 330명의 자료를 수집하였다. SPSS 29.0과 PROCESS Macro 4.1을 이용하여 자료를 분석하였으며, 부트스트래핑을 통해 매개효과의 유의성을 확인하였다. 검증 결과 첫째, 신혼기 남녀의 내면화된 수치심은 부부친밀감에 유의한 부적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 내면화된 수치심과 부부친밀감의 관계에서 관계진솔성의 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 셋째, 내면화된 수치심과 부부친밀감의 관계에서 지각된 배우자 지지의 매개효과는 유의하였다. 넷째, 내면화된 수치심과 부부친밀감의 관계에서 관계진솔성과 지각된 배우자 지지의 순차매개효과가 유의하였다. 이는 신혼기 남녀의 내면화된 수치심이 높을수록 배우자와의 관계에서 자신을 있는 그대로 드러내기 어렵게 되고, 이렇게 낮아진 관계진솔성은 배우자 지지에 대한 지각을 낮춤으로써 부부친밀감을 저해할 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구 결과는 신혼기 남녀의 부부친밀감에 영향을 미치는 요인을 통합적으로 분석함으로써, 안정적이고 적응적인 가정 형성과 신혼기 위기의 예방 및 개입을 위한 부부상담의 기초자료를 제공했다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the factors that contribute to the development of intimacy among newlywed couples, a population that experiences relatively high divorce rates. Grounded in the contextual model that integrates individuals’ internal and interpersonal relational frameworks, the study examined whether the effect of internalized shame on marital intimacy is sequentially mediated by relationship authenticity and perceived marital support. Data were collected from 330 newlywed men and women in their first marriage, all married for five years or less and without children. Using SPSS 29.0 and PROCESS Macro 4.1, the data were analyzed, and the significance of mediation effects was tested through bootstrapping. The results revealed that internalized shame had a significant negative effect on marital intimacy. Relationship authenticity did not significantly mediate this relationship, while perceived marital support did. Additionally, a significant sequential mediation effect was found through both relationship authenticity and perceived marital support. These findings suggest that higher levels of internalized shame among newlyweds may hinder open and authentic expression, thereby reducing perceived marital support and ultimately diminishing marital intimacy. This study provides valuable foundational data for couple counseling aimed at fostering stable and adaptive marriages and offers insights for preventive interventions during the early stages of marital life by presenting an integrated understanding of the factors influencing marital intimacy among newlyweds.
