고립 청년들의 탈고립 과정과 심리상담의 역할에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 고립 청년들의 탈고립 경험을 탐색하고, 그 과정에서의 심리상담 경험을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 고립을 벗어나는 과정에서 심리상담을 받았던 청년 6명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였다. 면담 내용을 Giorgi의 현상학적 방법으로 분석하였으며, 그 결과 83개의 의미단위, 30개의 하위구성요소, 8개의 구성요소, 2개의 주제가 도출되었다. 고립 청년의 탈고립 경험에서 드러난 구성요소는 ‘내․외적 요인으로 내몰리게 된 고립의 삶’, ‘탈고립에 대한 암담함과 고립의 늪’, ‘고립 청년을 둘러싼 지지체계 부족’, ‘탈고립을 향한 몸부림: 자기자각과 환경과의 유기적 협동’, ‘여전히 아물지 않은 고립의 흉터’이었다. 고립 청년의 심리상담 경험으로는 ‘상담 초기과정에서의 두려움’, ‘탈고립에 대한 상담의 동반자적 역할’, ‘외상 후 성장의 가능성을 열어줌’ 등 3개의 주제가 나타났다. 이상의 결과는 고립 청년들의 고립과 탈고립 과정에 대한 심층적인 이해를 제공하고, 탈고립 과정에서 심리상담의 역할과 기능에 대해 확인하는데 의의가 있다. 또한 본 연구 결과는 고립 청년들을 위한 심리상담적 개입 방안을 모색하는데 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the de-isolation experiences of socially isolated young adults and examine their psychotherapy experiences during this process. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with six young adults who had undergone psychotherapy during their de-isolation process. The interview data were analyzed using Giorgi’s phenomenological method, resulting in 83 meaning units, 30 sub-components, 8 components, and 2 main themes. The components identified in the de-isolation experiences of socially isolated young adults included: ‘A life of isolation driven by internal and external factors’, ‘Despair about de-isolation and the swamp of isolation’, ‘Lack of support systems surrounding socially isolated young adults’, ‘Struggles toward de-isolation: Self-awareness and organic cooperation with the environment’, and ‘Unhealed scars of isolation’. Regarding their psychotherapy experiences, three main themes emerged: ‘Fear in the early stages of therapy’, ‘The companion role of psychotherapy in de-isolation’, and ‘Opening the possibility for post-traumatic growth’. These findings provide a deeper understanding of the isolation and de-isolation processes of socially isolated young adults and highlight the role and function of psychotherapy in de-isolation. Furthermore, these results may serve as a foundational resource for developing psychotherapeutic intervention strategies for socially isolated young adults.
