국문 초록

본 연구는 사회복지상담의 이론적 정체성과 철학적 기반을 규명하고, 불교철학과의 융합 가능성을 탐색함으로써 그 지평을 확장하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 사회복지상담의 개념, 실천적 특징, 가치 전제들을 이론적으로 고찰하고, 특히 주관성, 촉진성, 절충성, 맥락성, 가변성의 SPECT 모델을 중심으로 그철학적 기반을 정립하였다. 이 과정에서 기존 심리상담과 달리 사회복지상담이 지니는 사회적 맥락성, 윤리적 가치지향, 전인적 접근 등의 차별성을 분석하였다. 또한 불교철학의 존재론(연기, 무상, 무아, 공)과 인식론(통찰, 마음챙김, 자비)에 기초하여 사회복지상담과의 접목 가능성을 이론적으로 탐구하였다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로, 본 연구는 불교철학에 기반한 사회복지상담의 통합적 실천모형을 제안한다. 이 모형은 연기성, 자비, 마음챙김을 핵심 원리로 삼고, ‘고통의 인정-관계적 자각-의미의 재구성-실천적 전환’의 단계로 구조화되며, 상담 현장에서 적용할 실천 기술을 포함한다. 본 연구는 문헌 분석과 철학적 개념 분석을 방법론으로 활용하였으며, 사회복지상담의 철학적 정체성과 실천 방향성을 심화하고, 치유와 성장을 지향하는새로운 실천 지평을 제시했다는 점에서 이론적·실천적 의의를 지닌다.

영문 초록

This study utilizes literature review and philosophical analysis as its main methodologies to explore the theoretical identity and philosophical foundation of social welfare counseling, while seeking alternative approaches to broaden its horizons through integration with Buddhist philosophy. By thoroughly examining the concept, identity, and practical characteristics of social welfare counseling, the study distinguishes it from existing psychological counseling and elucidates its unique position within social welfare practice. Furthermore, the study investigates the feasibility of integrating Buddhist philosophy’s core concepts dependent origin — ation, compassion, insight, the middle path, and the noble eightfold path into soci — al welfare counseling. Based on these efforts, an integrated practice model of social welfare counseling grounded in Buddhist philosophy is proposed. This model structures key processes around the acceptance of suffering, restoration of life's meaning, and holistic growth of existence, and emphasizes dependent origination, compassion, and mindfulness as its core principles. By presenting this model not only as a theoretical framework but also as a practical methodology applicable to counseling settings, the study adds depth to the philosophical foundation of social welfare counseling and concretizes its practical direction. The significance of this research lies in its ability to provide new orientations for healing and growth that social welfare counseling should aspire to, thus contributing to the expansion of possibilities in this field.
