자폐성장애인의 특별한 재능을 반영한 강점 기반 교육지원 모델 개발

국문 초록

이 연구는 자폐성장애인의 특별한 재능을 반영한 강점 기반 교육지원 모델 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 개발된 교육지원 모델은 본 연구자가 수행했던 일련의 선행연구 결과를 기반으로 구축되었다. 개발된 모델의타당도를 확보하기 위해 20명의 교육전문가와 자폐성장애인의 보호자를 대상으로 내용타당도를 검토하였으며, 그 결과 개발과정과 개발결과 각각에 대해 높은 내용타당도를 확보하였다. 내용타당도 검토 과정에서 제안된 의견은 최종 모델에 반영되었다. 개발된 강점 기반 교육지원 모델은 (1) 자폐성장애인의 특별한 재능에대한 사회적 인식과 교육 철학 변화, (2) 강점 기반의 교육지원 절차 및 내용, (3) 지원 모델 운영 체계 및 제도적 기반의 세 가지 핵심 요소로 구성되었다. 강점 기반의 교육지원 절차는 진단-교육-성과 분석의 흐름으로체계화되었으며, 특히 진단 단계에서 특별한 재능의 정도와 영역, 선호도, 인지 특성 등을 포괄적으로 평가하도록 설계되었다. 강점 기반의 교육지원은 특별한 재능을 심화하고 촉진할 수 있는 프로그램 운영을 전제로하며, 보편적 지원(예: 환경 구성 및 구조화된 교수 등)과 개별적 지원(예: 강점 기반 IEP 수립, 심리･정서 지원) 을 통합하여 전인적 발달을 지원하는 체계로 구성되었다. 이러한 지원 모델을 효과적으로 운영하기 위해서는‘연계와 협력’이 요구되며 이를 제도적으로 지원할 수 있는 법과 정책적 기반이 마련되어야 한다. 본 연구는자폐성장애 학생의 장기적 행복과 자율성 증진을 목표로, 강점 중심 관점에서 실질적이고 실행가능한 교육모델을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop a strength-based educational support model that reflects the savant skills of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. The proposed model was constructed based on a series of prior studies conducted by the researcher. To validate the content of the model, a content validity assessment was carried out involving 20 participants including special education experts and parents of individuals with ASD. The results showed high levels of validity, with average scores of 4.87 for the development process and 4.80 for the outcome. The final model was revised and refined based on feedback gathered during the validation process. The developed model consists of three core components: (1) promoting social awareness and shifting the educational philosophy regarding the savant skills and strength of individuals with ASD, (2) a structured procedure and content for strength-based educational support, and (3) an implementation system supported by legal and institutional frameworks. The educational support process is systematized into three stages: diagnosis, education, and outcome analysis. In particular, the diagnostic phase is designed to comprehensively assess the strength and savant skills, preferences, and cognitive characteristics. Strength-based educational support assumes the implementation of programs that foster and deepen these talents. The model integrates universal support (e.g., structured environments and instructional strategies) with individualized support (e.g., strength-based IEP development and psychosocia/emotional support) to promote holistic development. Effective implementation of this support model requires both strong collaboration among stakeholders and coordination with educational and community systems, supported by appropriate legal and policy frameworks. This study is significant in that it proposes a practical and implementable strengths-based educational model designed to enhance the long-term well-being, autonomy, and quality of life of students with ASD by expanding career and vocational pathways.
