본 연구는 성장혼합모형을 적용하여 시간의 변화에 따른 장애인의 우울 변화궤적 유형화와이들 유형이 자아존중감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 규명하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 장애인 삶 패널조사 1차년도(2018년)부터 4차년도(2021년)자료를 이용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 장애인의 우울 변화궤적에 있어서 개인차가 존재함이 확인되었다. 둘째, 장애인의 우울 변화궤적에 따른 잠재프로파일 수를 추정한 결과, 최적의 2계층 유형이 선택되었고, ‘점진적 우울 감소 집단(a)’(84.2%)과 ‘점진적 우울 증가 집단(b)’(15.8%)로 명명하였다. 셋째, 장애인의 혼인상태가 혼인중일수록, 건강상태가 좋을수록, 일자리가 있을수록, 일상생활에서 존중받는 정도가 높을수록 점진적 우울 감소 집단(a)에 속할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 반면에, 경제적 어려움이 많을수록, 중증장애일수록, 중복장애를 가지고 있을수록 점진적 우울 증가 집단(b)에 속할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 장애인의 자아존중감에 우울궤적 유형의 영향을 분석한 결과, ‘점진적 우울 감소 집단’(a)이자아존중감이 더 높다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 장애인의 우울을 감소시키고 자아존중감을 향상시키 위한 실천적, 정책적 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to apply the growth mixture model to categorize the changetrajectories of depression in people with disabilities over time and to identify how these categorizations affect self-esteem. To this end, data from the 1st (2018) to the 4th (2021) yearof Disability and Life Dynamics Panel were used. As a result of the analysis, first, it wasconfirmed that there were individual differences in the change trajectories of depression inpeople with disabilities. Second, as a result of estimating the number of latent profilesaccording to the change trajectories of depression in people with disabilities, the optimaltwo-tier type was selected and named the ‘gradual depression reduction group (a)’ (84.2%)and the ‘gradual depression increase group (b)’ (15.8%). Third, the more the marital status ofthe disabled person, the better the health, the more the job, and the more respect they receivein their daily lives, the more likely they are to belong to the gradual depression reductiongroup (a). On the other hand, the more economic difficulties, the more severe the disability,and the more multiple disabilities there were, the higher the possibility of belonging to theprogressive depression increase group (b). Fourth, as a result of analyzing the effect of thedepression trajectory type on the self-esteem of the disabled, it was confirmed that the‘progressive depression decrease group’ (a) had higher self-esteem. Based on these researchresults, practical and policy suggestions were made to reduce depression and improveself-esteem of the disabled.
