국문 초록

사회복지사가 실천현장에서 클라이언트의 죽음과 상실을 경험하게 되는 경우가 더욱 빈번해지고 있다. 이에 사회복지사들을 위한 관련 교육과 지원이 필요하다는 점이 강조되고 있음에도 불구하고 교육과정을 구체적으로 제안한 연구는 진행된 바가 없다. 따라서 본 연구는 죽음을 다루는사회복지사의 전문성 강화를 위해 사회복지사를 위한 죽음과 상실 교육과정을 제시하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 델파이조사를 통해 교육내용, 교육방법을 확인하였으며 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육내용 중 ‘죽음을 경험한 사회복지사 자신 및 동료를 돌보는 개입 방법’, ‘존엄한 죽음을 위한 준비에 대한 이해’의 중요도가 가장 높게 나왔다. 둘째, 교육방법은 중간관리자 및 신입 사회복지사를대상으로 5회 이하의 횟수로 교육을 진행하되 한국사회복지사협회 및 외부 전문 기관이 교육 주체가 되어야한다는 의견이 강조되었다. 사회복지사를 위한 죽음과 상실 교육과정을 실행하여 사회복지사가 안전하고 건강하게 일할 수 있는 환경이 조성되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Social workers are increasingly experiencing the death and loss of clients in theirpractice. Despite the growing need for related education and support for social workers, nostudy has been conducted that specifically suggests a curriculum. Therefore, this study aims topresent a death and loss education curriculum for social workers to enhance theprofessionalism of social workers who deal with death. The educational content and methods were confirmed through a Delphi survey, and the results of the study are as follows. First,among the educational contents, ‘intervention methods for caring for social workers and theircolleagues who have experienced death’ and ‘understanding preparation for a dignified death’were found to be the most important. Second, it was emphasized that the educational methodshould be conducted five times or less for mid-level managers and new social workers, andthat the Korean Social Workers Association and external professional organizations should bethe main providers of education. The death and loss education curriculum for social workersshould be implemented to create an environment where social workers can work safely andhealthily.
