특수학교의 장애학생 부모상담 실태 및 특수교사의 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 특수학교의 장애학생 부모상담에 대한 실태 및 특수교사의 인식을 이해하기 위하여, 161명의 특수학교 교사를 대상으로 장애학생 부모상담에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 부모상담의 운영 실태, 부모상담에 대한 교사 인식, 학교급별에 따른 부모상담의 차이, 그리고 부모상담의 활성화에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 특수학교 교사들은 학생의 문제행동이 발생하거나 부모의 요구가 있을 때 상담을 실시하는 경우가 많았으며, 상담 내용은 학생의 문제행동이나 학습, 발달, 진로에 대한 것이 주를 이루었다. 상담 방법의 경우 초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교, 전공과 과정은 전화를 이용한 상담이 많은 반면, 유치원 과정의 경우에는 대면상담이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 교사들은 부모상담이 학생의 학습과 행동에 관한 정보를 부모에게 제공하는데 가장 큰 목적이 있다고 보았으며, 상담시 이루어지는 내용도 이러한 부분에 초점을 맞추어야 한다고 생각하고 있었다. 하지만, 교사로서 부모상담을 병행할 수 있는 시간적 여유가 부족하다고 지적하였다. 교사들은 부모상담이 활성화되기 위해서 교사들이 상담가로서의 전문적 자질을 갖출 수 있는 상담관련 연수가 실시되어야 하고, 부모상담에 충분한 시간을 확보하기 위해 교사들의 수업시간이나 업무를 줄일 필요가 있다고 하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 토대하여, 특수학교에서의 장애학생 부모상담의 활성화를 위한 제안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The study investigated the current status and perception of special education teachers on the parent consultation in special schools. The study included 161 special education teachers in special schools for the survey. In specific, the study looked over the current status of parent consultation, the perception of teachers on parent consultation, the difference among the level of schools, and the ways of enhancing parent consultation. In the results, the special school teachers implemented the consultation when the students' problem behaviors occurred or when the parents requested the consultation. In usual, the content of the consultation was about students' behaviors, learning, development, and career. Regarding the methods of consultation, the teachers in elementary, middle, high schools preferred to use telephone calls, but kindergarten teachers preferred to face-to-face consultation. The teachers perceived that the provision of the information about the students' learning and behaviors is the most important thing in consultation. However, the teachers mentioned that they did not have the enough time for the parent consultation. The teachers requested the education or training to enhance their ability on the parent consultation, and they also requested to reduce their works in schools. Based on the results of the study, the study suggested to promote the parent consultation in special schools.
