국문 초록

이 논문은 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 한 CEDA 토론 수업 방안에 대한 연구이다. 토론의 세 단계 중에서 연구자마다 의견 차이가 상이하게 나타나는 토론 전 단계에 주목하여 조 편성하기, 논제 정하기, 찬성과 반대 정하기, 토론 규칙과 순서 익히기, 토론 표현 익히기, 토론 개요서 작성하기를 활동 내용으로 설정하였다. 이어서 토론 전 단계 활동에 대해 기술한 선행 연구의 주장과 방법이 실제 토론 수업에서 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지 비판적으로 검토하여 그것의 효용과 가치를 따져 보고, 기존 연구에서 명쾌하게 설명되지 않은 내용과 연구자들 사이에서 의견이 엇갈린 주장에 대해서는 수업에 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 또한 수업을 진행할 때 생길 수 있는 문제와 상황에 대해 언급하고 해결 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 외국인 유학생을 위한 토론 수업 사례를 보일 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to establish CEDA(Cross Examination Debate Association) debate class plans for foreign students. Out of the three stages of debate, this study paid attention to the pre-debate stage that researchers have different opinions, and established such activities as organizing teams, choosing topics, supporting or opposing, learning the debate rule and order, learning debate expressions and drawing up debate outlines. Then, this study reviewed opinions and methods for pre-debate activities from previous studies and critically examined how they can be applied to an actual debate class as well as their effectiveness and values. In regard to what previous studies failed to explain clearly and different opinions between researchers, this study attempted to seek plans that can contribute to debate class. Besides, this study described problems and circumstances that may take place in debate class and proposed solutions. Based on the research results above, this study could make a desirable case of debate class for foreign students.
