농어촌 소규모학교의 방과후학교 미술교육 활성화를 위한 참여자 인식조사: 초등학교 학부모와 미술강사를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 농어촌 소규모학교 방과후학교 미술교육의 활성화 방안을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 전국에서도 농촌 인구 비중이 높고, 학령인구 감소 및 소규모학교 비율이 두드러지는 대표적인 농어촌 지역에 해당하는 전라북도 A군을 대상으로 초등학생의 학부모 45명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하고, 해당 지역에서 재직 중인 방과후학교 미술교육 강사 3인에 대한 심층면담을 병행한 혼합연구를 수행하였다. 설문자료의 통계분석은 SPSS 프로그램을 활용하였으며, 설문의 개방형 문항과 인터뷰 원자료는 반복적 비교분석법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 학부모와 미술강사는 방과후학교 미술교육이 농어촌 아동의 문화예술 경험 확대와 창의성 및 정서 발달에 중요한 역할을 한다는 점에 공감하였다. 참여 경험이 있는 학부모는 창의성 계발을 주된 목적이라 응답했으며, 참여하지 않은 학부모는 프로그램 부족과 홍보 미비를 주요 요인으로 지적하였다. 다문화·조손가정의 정보 접근성 문제와 열악한 물리적 환경, 강사 수급의 어려움 등도 주요 과제로 나타났다. 이에 따라 지역 특성을 반영한 프로그램 다양화, 순회강사제 도입, 공동교육과정 운영, 온라인 자료 개발, 감성 중심 미술교육 및 강사 전문성 강화를 통한 운영 개선의 필요성이 제기되었다. 본 연구는 농어촌 지역의 방과후학교 미술교육 현장의 요구와 개선방안을 분석하고 농어촌 지역 방과후학교의 문제점과 활성화 방안을 도출했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore ways to revitalize art education in small after-school schools in rural areas. To this end, a survey was conducted on 45 parents of elementary school students in Jeollabuk-do, which is a representative rural area where the proportion of the rural population is high in the country, and the school-age population decreases and the proportion of small schools is remarkable, and a mixed study was conducted in parallel with in-depth interviews with three after-school art education instructors in the area. Statistical analysis of the questionnaire data used the SPSS program, and the open-ended questionnaire and interview data were analyzed through repetitive comparative analysis. As a result of the study, parents and art instructors agreed that after-school art education plays an important role in expanding the cultural and artistic experience of children in rural areas and developing creativity and emotions. Parents with participation experience responded that the main purpose was to develop creativity, and parents who did not participate pointed out the lack of program and lack of publicity as major factors. Major tasks also appeared were the problem of access to information of multicultural and grandparents, poor physical environment, and difficulty in supplying and receiving instructors. Accordingly, the need to improve the operation by diversifying programs reflecting regional characteristics, introducing a traveling instructor system, operating joint curriculum, developing online materials, and strengthening emotion-oriented art education and instructor expertise was raised. This study is significant in that it analyzes the needs and improvement plans of the after-school art education field in rural areas and derives problems and activation plans for after-school schools in rural areas.
