국문 초록

본 연구는 생성형 인공지능 기술이 급속히 확산되는 오늘날, 시각문화 환경의 근본적 변화를 분석하고, 이에 대응하는 미술교육의 새로운 방향성을 모색한다. 인간이 창작한 이미지와 AI가 생성한 이미지가 혼재하는 시대에, 기존의 비주얼 리터러시 개념만으로는 시각 정보의 진위 판별, 알고리즘적 편향 인식, 윤리적 판단 등 복합적 요구를 충족하기 어렵다. 이에 본 논문은 AI 시대에 요구되는 비주얼 리터러시의 핵심 역량—알고리즘적 인식, 프롬프트 리터러시, 협업적 창의성, 데이터 비판성, 윤리적 판단력—을 도출하고, 이를 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 구체적 미술 수업 방안을 초등학교와 중학교 단계별로 제안한다. 수업 설계는 구성주의, 탐구 기반, 체험적 학습, 개별화 및 협업, 윤리적 성찰 등 다양한 원리를 통합하였으며, AI 도구와의 실제 상호작용을 통해 학습자가 비판적 사고와 창의적 실천을 동시에 함양하도록 하였다. 본 연구는 AI와 공존하는 미래 세대가 주체적이고 책임감 있는 시각문화의 창작자이자 해석자로 성장할 수 있도록, 미술교육이 기술적 활용을 넘어 비판적·윤리적 성찰과 창의적 참여를 아우르는 총체적 역량 함양에 기여할 방안을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the fundamental transformation of the visual cultural environment in the context of the rapid proliferation of generative artificial intelligence technologies and explores new directions for art education in response to these changes. As images created by humans and those generated by AI increasingly coexist, the traditional concept of visual literacy is insufficient to address the complex demands of verifying visual authenticity, recognizing algorithmic bias, and making ethical judgments. Accordingly, this paper identifies the core competencies required for visual literacy in the age of AI—algorithmic awareness, prompt literacy, collaborative creativity, data criticality, and ethical judgment—and proposes concrete art education strategies for both elementary and secondary school levels. The instructional design integrates a range of educational principles, including constructivism, inquiry-based and experiential learning, differentiation, collaboration, and ethical reflection, enabling students to cultivate both critical thinking and creative practice through active engagement with AI tools. Ultimately, this research presents ways in which art education can contribute to the development of holistic competencies that encompass not only the technical use of AI but also critical and ethical reflection and creative participation, thereby supporting future generations to become autonomous and responsible creators and interpreters of visual culture in an AI-driven society.
