글자 그림책 선택 기준에 대한 유아교사의 주관적 태도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 Q방법론을 활용하여 글자 그림책 선택 기준에 대한 유아교사의 주관적 태도를 심층적으로 알아봄으로써 유아교육현장에서의 글자 그림책 활용 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 예비유아교사 대상의 개방형 질문지, 선행연구 고찰, 글자 그림책 분석을 통해 50개의 진술문으로 Q모집단을 구성하고 그 중 33개의 Q표본을 선정하여 학사학위 전공심화과정, 교육대학원 석사과정, 대학원 박사과정에 재학 중인 유아교사 27명에게 Q분류하도록 하였다. 그 결과 글자 그림책 선택 기준에 대한 유아교사의 유형은 ‘그림보다 글자가 중요한 글자 그림책’, ‘유아의 흥미를 유발하고 놀이할 수 있는 글자 그림책’, ‘유아의 발달 수준에 적합한 글자 그림책’의 3가지 유형으로 명명하여 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 유아교사가 양질의 글자 그림책을 선택할 수 있도록 글자 그림책의 특성을 고려한 구체적인 선정 기준이 마련되어야 하며, 교사 연수를 통해 다양한 글자 그림책을 알고 선택할 수 있는 기회를 제공해야 한다. 나아가 우리나라 글자의 특성을 반영하되 유아의 흥미와 발달 특성을 고려하는 다양한 형태의 글자 그림책이 출판되어야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the ways to utilize alphabet books in early childhood education by deepening the subjective attitude of early childhood teachers on the selection criteria of alphabet books using the Q methodology. For this purpose, 50 statements were constructed through open questionnaires for preschool teachers, and preliminary research and picture book analysis were done, and 33 Q samples were selected. Twenty-seven students who attended the doctoral course were classified into Q categories. The results are as follows: The types of early childhood teachers based on the selection criteria for alphabet books are presented by naming 3 types: 'Alphabet books where words are more important than pictures', 'Alphabet books that can arouse and entertain children's interest and 'Alphabet books suitable for the development of children'. The results of this study should provide specific selection criteria taking into consideration the characteristics of the alphabet books so that early childhood teachers can choose a good alphabet books. They should be given access to a variety of written alphabet books through teacher training. Furthermore, they suggests that various types of alphabet books should be published that reflect the characteristics of Korean letters but take into account the interest and developmental characteristics of children.
