사립유치원 주임교사로 살아가는 이야기

국문 초록

본 연구는 현재 사립 유치원에서 주임교사로 근무하고 있는 교사가 어떤 어려움을 겪고 있으며 그어려움을 해결해나가는 방법에는 무엇이 있는지, 또한 주임교사로서 느낄 수 있는 보람에는 어떤 것들이 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 연구 참여자는 D광역시 내에 있는 사립유치원에서 주임교사로 근무하고 있는 교사 10명을 선정하였다. 주임교사의 어려움을 알아보고자 심층면담, 전화면담을 병행하였으며 연구기간은 4개월에 걸쳐 진행되었다. 연구결과 사립유치원 주임교사가 겪는 어려움으로는 첫째, 교사 경력이 낮거나 해당 연령을 이동하는 등 준비가 되어있지 않은 상태에서 주임역할을 하게 되었고 둘째, 유치원 전반적인 업무를 평교사들보다 더 과중된 업무를 처리하였다. 셋째, 평교사들을 이끌어가는 과정에서 다른 교사들을 먼저 챙기게 되면서 자신의 일은 뒤로 미루어지고 있었다. 넷째, 주임교사는 ‘어떤 일이든 잘 처리해야 한다.’ 라는 주변사람들의 기대감으로 부담감을 가지고 있었고 다섯째, 동료교사들과의 관계에서 어려움이 있었으며 여섯째, 업무과중으로 인해 우리 반 아이들에게 미치는 부정적인 영향이 있었다. 또한 주임교사가 어려움을 극복하는 방법으로는 첫째, 동료교사와의 대인관계 극복하기 둘째, 선배교사에게 조언구하기 셋째, 자신만의 스트레스 해소 찾기가 있었다. 마지막으로 주임교사가 느끼는 보람에는 첫째, 동료교사들에게 인정받는 성취감 둘째, 상사에게 인정받는 성취감 셋째, 교사로서의 자신의 성장에 만족감이 있었다.

영문 초록

This research investigated the difficulties that head teachers face, how they could solve those difficulties, and what would be a sense of satisfaction while working as head teachers at private kindergartens. This study provides understanding and suggestions for the role of the incumbent of future head teachers at private kindergartens. To examine the difficulty of head teachers, we conducted deep interviews and telephone interviews at the same time for over 4 months. Thus, the difficulties that head teachers of private kindergartens experience are presented, First, because they are not ready for the job, the head teachers that are appointed feel pressure. Second, head teachers at kindergartens had too much works to do. Third, in the process of continuing to lead their teaching staffers, they faced problems and therefore, they had to postpone their work. Fourth, they burdened from the expectations of the surrounding people, that is, the head teachers must do all work well. Fifth, they had difficulties in forming working relationship with their colleague teachers. Sixth, they are concerned about a negative impact on their children caused by too much work from their duties as head teachers. To overcome the difficulties experienced by head teachers, first, they should strive to continual overcome the difficulties in interpersonal relationships with colleagues teachers. Second, they should try to solve the difficult situation while consulting on the matters with the superiors or senior teachers. Third, they should try to relieve their stress in health manner. Finally, for sense of satisfaction by head teachers, they felt a sense of accomplishment when recognized by their colleague teachers. Second, there was a sense of accomplishment when recognized by their superiors (by owner or director) Third, they were satisfied with their growth as a teacher.
