메타포 분석을 통한 유아 어머니의 자율적 양육태도에 대한 인식

국문 초록

본 연구는 자율적 양육태도 성향을 지닌 어머니가 유아기 자녀를 양육함에 있어 어떠한 양육 특성을 가지고 있는지를 확인하기 위한 목적으로 실행되었다. 이를 위하여 양육 태도 검사를 거쳐 선별된14명의 자율적 양육태도 유형 어머니를 대상으로 1차적으로 메타포 검사를 실시하고 그것이 의미하는 바가 무엇인지 자율기술식으로 작성케 하였다. 여기에 더해 메타포를 보다 의미있게 해석하기 위하여 생성된 메타포 내용에 대한 개념도를 작성하고 필요한 경우 심층면담을 실시하였다. 이후 생성된 모든 자료는 질적 내용분석 방법에 의하여 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 어머니들이 가지고 있는 자율적 양육태도에 대한 인식은 ‘아이의 건강한 성장을 위한 영양분’, ‘눈높이 엄마’, ‘유아와의 약속과 신뢰형성’, ‘몸에 배는 경험을 위한 무지개 빛 경험 제공’, ‘자율이라는 이름에 대한 오해’ 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 자율적 양육태도 성향을 지닌 부모들의 특성 및 목표와 내용, 방법, 자율적 양육태도를 위한 전제, 그리고 자율적 양육태도에 대한 현장의 오해 등을 밝혔다는 점에서 시사하는 바가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the maternal characteristics of mothers whose children were in early childhood and who were inclined to raise their children in an autonomous way. The subjects in this study were 14 selected mothers who were found to have an autonomous maternal attitude when a maternal attitude test was conducted. After a metaphor test was done, they were asked to describe the meanings of their metaphors. In order to make a more profound interpretation of their metaphors, conceptual diagrams were drawn, and in-depth interviews were held when necessary. All the collected data were analyzed by qualitative analyses. As a result, the maternal experiences of the mothers who had an autonomous maternal attitude were categorized into five areas: "nourishment necessary for the child's sound growth," "a mother who got down to her child's level," "keeping promises with the child and building mutual trust," "providing rosy experiences for the child to gain practical experiences," and "misunderstanding the word autonomy." The findings of this study have great implications. The data show the characteristics of mothers with autonomous maternal attitude and suggest a goal, content and method for the education of these parents as well as the prerequisites for autonomous maternal attitude and the fact that this attitude was misunderstood.
