무의미낱말 따라말하기 과제를 통한 유아의 음운발달 탐색

국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 본 연구는 초기 말-언어 습득 단계 아동에게 무의미낱말 따라말하기 과제를 실시하여 연령 증가에 따른 아동 반응 유형및 음운 정확도 변화 양상, 그리고 음운 정확도와 표현 언어 간의 상호작용을 탐색하고자 하였다. 방법: 일반 아동 18-23개월 15명, 24-30개월 14명, 31-35개월 25명을 대상으로 무의미낱말 15문항을 따라 말하게 하였다. 아동 반응은 목표어 정반응, 음운론적으로 유사한 오반응, 어휘화 오류, 옹알이, 무반응으로 구분하였다. 음운 정확도는 문항, 음절, 음소 정확도로 나누었으며 표현 언어 점수와 상관을 살펴보았다. 결과: 아동은 연령이 증가하면서 목표어 정반응 증가, 어휘화 오류, 무반응은 유의하게 감소하였고 음운 정확도는 전반적으로 향상되는 경향성을 보였다. 음절 길이가 긴 검사어일수록 문항 정확도와 음소 정확도가 낮았다. 또한 2음절 이상 무의미낱말 따라말하기의 문항 정확도는 표현 언어 점수와 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 무의미낱말 따라말하기 과제가 초기 언어 습득기 아동의 음운 처리 및 말 산출 능력 평가에 활용될 수 있음을 보여주며, 표현 언어 발달과의 유의한 관련 가능성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives: This study investigated the phonological development of toddlers during early speech and language acquisition using a nonword repetition (NWR) task. It aimed to ex amine age-related changes in response patterns and phonological accuracy, as well as the relationship between phonological accuracy and expressive language ability. Methods: Fifty-four typically developing children aged 18 to 35 months were divided into three age groups. Each child was asked to repeat 15 nonwords. Responses were categorized into tar get responses, phonologically similar errors, lexical errors, babbling, and no response. Phonological accuracy was measured at the item, syllable, and phoneme levels. Expressive language scores were assessed using SELSI-Expressive language. Results: As age increased, the proportion of target responses increased, while lexical errors and no responses significantly decreased, and overall phonological accuracy improved. The accuracy of items and phonemes in nonword repetition was lower for nonwords with longer syllable lengths, particularly for those with three to four syllables. In addition, significant positive correlations were found between item accuracy for nonwords of two or more syllables and expressive language scores. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the nonword repetition task may be useful for assessing phonological processing and speech production abilities in toddlers during early language acquisition, with performance showing a significant association with expressive language development.
