국문 초록

이 연구는 (한)국어교육학계에 입문하고자 하는 학문후속세대의 학문사회화 과정을 질적으로 관찰하여, 향후 (한)국어교육학계의 학문 문식성 향상에 필요한 내용 체계를 도출하기 위한 기초 논의이다. 연구 참여자는 서울에 위치한 연구중심대학의 (한)국어교육전공 대학원생이다. 예비 연구자로서 대학원생이 학문을 실천하는 과정에서 드러내는 성찰적 인식과 함께 학습을 통해 유의미하게 변화되었다고 판단되는 그들의 인식을 준거로, 학문사회화의 주요 변곡점을 확인하였다. 이를 위해, 대학원생이 한 학기 동안 강의를 수강하면서 학기 말 최종 과제, 즉 ‘연구 보고서’를 제출하기 위해 연구를 수행하고, 수업을 통해 관련 이론을 학습하고, 전문가의 방법론 특강 및 학과의 공식/비공식 행사에 참여하는 등 일련의 국면마다 가지는 다양한 ‘인식’을 현상 그대로 포착하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, ‘문제의식 출현 및 연구 주제 생성’에서부터 ‘학문 및 연구의 본질’에 이르기까지 총 6개의 대범주와 16개의 중범주, 59개의 소범주가 코드로 도출되었다. 향후 후속 연구가 축적된다면, (한)국어교육전공의 맥락에서 학문 문식성의 내용 체계 표를 완성할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다. 이에 따라 학부생을 대상으로 기존 대학작문교육과 대학독서교육 차원에서 이루어진 논의의 범위를 확장하여, 대학원 및 전문적 교육의 맥락에서 개별 학문을 실천하는 ‘학자로서의 필자 및 독자’의 상을 새롭게 발굴하고, 연구자 정체성을 가진 저자성 개념에 기대어, 예비 연구자들이 학문사회화 과정에서 텍스트를 수용하고 생산하는 데 필요한 지식, 기능, 태도를 실체적으로 규명할 수 있을 것이다. 이 연구는 이를 위한 긴 여정의 출발선에 위치하는 연구라는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study is a preliminary investigation aimed at establishing a content system necessary to enhance academic literacy in the field of Korean language education. This involved qualitatively observing the academic socialization process of the next generation of scholars wishing to enter the Korean language education academic community. The study was conducted with graduate students enrolled in a foundational course titled “Introduction to Writing in Korean Language Education” at a research-oriented university in Seoul, South Korea. Focusing on the reflective awareness that emerges as graduate students engage in academic practice, this study sought to identify key turning points in their academic socialization process based on meaningful shifts in perception during their learning experience. As emerging researchers, their perceptions of research, shaped through the process of completing assignments (such as a “research report,” attending theory-based lectures, participating in methodology workshops, and engaging in official and unofficial departmental events), were analyzed in various phases, thus capturing their evolving awareness of research competencies. As a result, six major categories, 16 subcategories, and 59 specific categories were coded, ranging from “the emergence of problem awareness and topic generation” to “the essence of academia and research.” With future research accumulation, a comprehensive content system for academic literacy specific to the Korean language education context is anticipated to be developed. Expanding the discussion to encompass university-level writing and reading education at the undergraduate level, this study aims to uncover a new image of “authors and readers as scholars practicing in” individual academic disciplines. By building on the concept of authorship tied to a researcher’s identity, it is possible to substantiate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for novice researchers to engage with and produce texts during their academic socialization process. This study is significant as it explores the starting point of this journey.
