국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 바슐라르와 리쾨르의 철학에서 상상력의 힘과 가능성 을 꿈꾸는 인간 개념을 비교·분석하는 것이다. ‘시적 이미지’와 ‘살아 있는 은유’라는 주요 개념을 통해 이 두 프랑스 철학자의 공통점과 차이점을 분석 하는 과정에서 발견하게 될 ‘가능성의 세계’라는 공통된 지향점은 조선 후 기 활빈당의 상상력과 새로운 세계에 대한 해석에 일정 부분 적용될 것이다. 이를 위해 나는 한편 바슐라르의 통주관성 개념 덕분에 시적 의식이 다른 의 식으로 전달될 수 있음을 밝힐 것이다. 즉, 시적 이미지는 현실 너머의 것을 창조하며, 비현실을 가능성의 통로로 만들며, 세상의 새로운 측면, 현실을 보 는 새로운 방식, 이 세상을 살아가는 새로운 방식을 발견하게 하는 힘이라는 사실을 밝혔다. 이 연구를 통해 나는 다른 한편 리쾨르의 살아있는 은유 개념 덕분에 언어와 현실 세계 사이에 다리를 놓는 힘이자 현실을 재구성하는 힘 의 의미를 소개할 것이다. 다시 말해 살아있는 은유는 우리에게 세상을 보는 새로운 지평을 열어주며, 언어 외적인 현실을 보여줌으로써 의미의 영역을 실천의 영역, 즉 행위의 영역으로까지 확장할 수 있는 능력을 제공한다고 밝 힐 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the power of imagination and the concept of the human being who dreams of possibilities in the philosophies of Bachelard and Ricoeur. In the process of analyzing the similarities and differences between these two French philosophers through the key concepts of ‘poetic image’ and ‘métaphore vive’, the common orientation towards a ‘world of possibilities’ will be found and applied to the interpretation of the imagination and the new world in the late Joseon Dynasty. To this end, I will show that, on the one hand, thanks to Bachelard’s concept of transsubjectivity, poetic consciousness can be transmitted to other consciousnesses; that is, poetic image is a force that creates something beyond reality, that turns the unreal into a channel of possibility, and that allows us to discover new aspects of the world, new ways of seeing reality, and new ways of living in this world. In this study, I will introduce the meaning of ‘métaphore vive’ as a force that builds bridges between language and the real world and a force that reconstructs reality, thanks to Ricoeur’s concept of ‘métaphore vive’. In other words, I will show that ‘métaphore vive’ open up new ways of seeing the world to us, giving us the ability to extend the realm of meaning into the realm of practice, the realm of action, by showing us realities outside of language.
