국문 초록

이 연구는 초월적 이원론에 근거한 고전적 유신론의 한계를 보완할 대 안적 신론으로 근대와 현대의 과정철학을 대표하는 헤겔(Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel)과 화이트헤드(Alfred North Whitehead)의 존재론을 현대의 범재신론과 접목시켜 보고자 한다. 헤겔과 화이트헤드는 공통적으로 실체 가 현실화되는 창조와 계시의 과정을 실체의 본성으로 규정하지만 그 형식 과 목적에는 미묘한 차이가 있다. 그 차이를 융합하면, 신과 세계의 화해가능 성, 현실의 악과 신의 정당성 문제, 나아가 역사와 문명에 대한 낙관적 전망 의 이론적 근거뿐만 아니라 계시와 인식의 긴장 속에서도 사유 너머의 미래 를 기다리는 열린 신학의 길을 도모할 수 있다. 이를 위해 이 논문은 먼저 고 전적 유신론의 사상적 근거와 특성을 개괄하고, 이에 견주어 범재신론의 해 석학적 보완의 가능성을 검토할 것이다. 그리고 헤겔과 화이트헤드의 과정 철학을 ‘과정적 범재신론’의 관점으로 재해석하고, 그것과 그리스도교 교리 의 정합성을 비판적으로 점검한 후 그들의 범재신론이 공유하는 ‘과정’ 개 념으로 그리스도교와 현대 문명의 미래를 전망할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to integrate the ontologies of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and Alfred North Whitehead—representative figures of modern and contemporary process philosophy—with contemporary panentheism as an alternative theology that supplements the limitations of classical theism based on transcendent dualism. Both Hegel and Whitehead commonly define the process of creation and revelation as the actualization of substance, yet they differ subtly in form and purpose. By synthesizing these differences, it is possible to explore not only the theoretical foundation for the reconciliation between God and the world, the problem of theodicy, and an optimistic outlook on history and civilization but also an open theological path that anticipates the future beyond thought in the tension between revelation and knowledge. To this end, this paper will first outline the ideological foundations and characteristics of classical theism and examine the potential hermeneutical supplementation provided by panentheism in comparison. It will then reinterpret the process philosophies of Hegel and Whitehead from the perspective of “Panentheism in Process” and critically assess their coherence with Christian doctrine. Finally, it will explore the future of Christianity and modern civilization through the shared concept of process in their panentheistic frameworks.
