국문 초록

정남수(1895-1965)는 1930년대에 장막전도대를 이끌며 전국적인 부흥 운동을 일으킨 부흥사였다. 그는 해방 이후에 한국 나사렛교회를 창립했다. 도산 안창호(1878-1938)는 일제강점기의 독립운동가이자 민족지도자였다. 그들은 기독교인으로서 사제의 관계를 맺었지만, 안창호는 부흥운동과 거리 를 두었고 정남수도 미국에서 돌아온 후로는 스승의 독립운동에 관여하지 않았다. 본 연구는 정남수와 안창호의 기독교 가르침을 탐구하고 비교함으 로써, 개인구원과 사회구원에 대한 역사신학적 성찰을 제공하고자 한다. 이 를 위해, 본 연구는 다음 세 가지를 실행한다. 첫째, 정남수와 안창호의 역사 적 관계를 개관하며, 그들이 평생 친분을 유지했으나 일제강점기의 시대적 상황으로 인해 서로의 운동에 참여하기 어려웠음을 밝힌다. 둘째, 부흥운동 과 독립운동의 맥락으로부터 나온 기독교 삼덕에 대한 그들의 가르침을 비 교 분석하며 신학적으로 성찰한다. 마지막으로 이러한 연구 결과에 근거하 여, 오늘날 개인구원과 사회구원을 함께 추구해야 하는 한국교회를 향해 제 언한다.

영문 초록

Robert Chung (1895-1965) was a prominent Korean revivalist in the 1930s, sparking a nationwide revival through his leadership of the Tent Evangelistic Campaign. After Korea's liberation, he founded the Korea Nazarene Church. Ahn Chang-Ho (1878-1938) was a key independence activist and national leader during the Japanese occupation. Although they were Christians and maintained a mentor-mentee relationship, Ahn distanced himself from the revival movement, and after Chung returned from the United States, he did not participate in his mentor’s independence movement. This study aims to explore and compare the Christian teachings of Chung and Ahn, offering a historical-theological reflection on personal and social salvation. To achieve this, the study undertakes three tasks: First, it provides an overview of the historical relationship between Chung and Ahn, demonstrating that, although they maintained a deep personal connection throughout their lives, the historical context of the Japanese occupation made it difficult for them to engage with each other’s movements. Second, it compares and analyzes their teachings on the three Christian virtues derived from the contexts of the revival and independence movements, reflecting theologically on them. Finally, based on these findings, the study offers suggestions for the Korean church today, which faces the challenge of pursuing both personal and social salvation.
