국문 초록

임산지는 근현대 시기의 초서 대가로, 국내외에서 명성을 얻으며 주목받은 인물이며, 시문과 회화에도 능하였다. 그의 초서 예술은 전예와 해서·행서를 융합한 것을 토대로 하고 있으며, 여기에 학식, 수양, 사상 등이 어우러져 융합된 결과물이라 할 수 있다. 그는 ‘옛 사람을 스승으로 삼는다’는 자세로 개인적 서학 실천을 통해 끊임없이 연마하고 깨달으며, 이를 내면화 하였다. 그의 말년에는 마침내 창조적 변화를 이루고 '천인합일(天人合一)'의 경지에 도달하였다. 이처럼 임산지 초서의 선행적 기초가 된 그의 ‘일상적인 필사’는 기록과 배움, 사유의 매개로서 중요한 역할을 하며, 그의 서학관 형성과 실천에 있어서 간과할 수 없는 요소다. 이는 그의 서학적 ‘자연관’이 집중적으로 드러나는 반영물이며, 오늘날 그 의의는 더욱 부각되고 있다. 오늘날 임산지의 ‘일상적인 필사’는 단순한 서법 표현을 넘어, 서예의 자연미와 창작 과정의 본질을 탐구하는 데 있어 중요한 연구 대상이 된다. 본고는 그의 ‘자연관’을 중심으로 초서 예술의 미학적 가치를 분석하고, 이를 통해 현대 서예 및 예술 창작에 주는 의미를 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

Lin Sanzhi, a prominent master of cursive script in the modern and contemporary period, is widely acclaimed both domestically and internationally. In addition to his accomplishments in calligraphy, he was also proficient in poetry, prose, and painting. Lin’s cursive calligraphy is deeply rooted in traditional scripts such as seal, clerical, standard, and semi-cursive forms, and further enriched by his profound erudition, moral cultivation, and philosophical contemplation. Adhering to the principle of “learning from the ancients,” he continuously refined his practice through introspective exploration, ultimately achieving in his later years a transformative and original style that embodied the Daoist ideal of the unity between man and nature. Of particular significance is Lin’s “daily writing,” which functioned as a vital medium for recording, learning, and self-reflection. These works not only provide insight into the formation and evolution of his calligraphic philosophy but also serve as a concrete manifestation of his conception of nature. In contemporary scholarship, Lin’s daily writings have emerged as an important resource for examining the intrinsic aesthetic qualities of calligraphy and the essence of its creative process. This study centers on Lin Sanzhi’s notion of “nature,” analyzing the aesthetic value of his cursive script and exploring its implications for contemporary calligraphy and artistic practice. 林散之为近现代时期草书大家，其享誉海内外而为世人所瞩目，亦工诗文、绘画。其草书艺术不仅以篆隶、楷行（书）熔铸为基，且又参以学识、修养、思想等内容交汇融合，“师法古人”而于个人书学实践中不断锤炼、参悟、沉淀，晚年终实现创变而达“天人合一”之境界，而作为林散之草书的先行，其“日常书写”作为记录或学习参悟的重要媒介，对于其书学观的形成与书学实践的作用不容忽视，是对其书学观中“自然观”的聚焦及映照，其当下意义更是愈发凸显。当今，林散之的“日常书写”不仅是单纯的书法表现，更成为探究书法自然美与创作过程本质的重要研究对象。本文以他的“自然观”为中心，分析草书艺术的美学价值，并由此探讨其对现代书法及艺术创作的意义。
